Lifetime Picks Up the Movie Trilogy Island Heat

The women's cable network, Lifetime, has given the go for filming the television movie trilogy Island Heat. According to Variety, the network has parternered with Matt Dorff and Bill O'Dowd to develop the film which will air during the Lifetime's Monday Night Movie franchise. Dorff will write the screenplay and O'Dowd will executive produce.

The three films are female-driven thrillers set in the Caribbean. The first film, Island Heat: Stranded, will star Erica Durance (Smallville) as a bride whose bachelorette party on the fictional island of San Carlos goes terribly wrong. Carlos Ponce (7th Heaven) is set to play police inspector Raddimus, a character that will appear in all three films.

Production is scheduled to begin shortly in Puerto Rico and the network has not announced an airing date at this time.
