Peter Horton to Direct The Philanthropist Pilot

Source:  Variety
Peter Horton will be throwing some money around in his next project, or at least he'll be directing someone who is. According to Variety, Horton has signed on to direct and executive produce the NBC pilot, The Philanthropist.

He joins new executive producer and showrunner David Eick, who both will replace Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana, who dropped out of the project at the beginning of the month.

The series revolves around a billionaire who uses his wealth to help those less fortunate than him. Horton is no stranger to TV directing, having directed episodes of Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, The Shield and most recently directing and executive producing Dirty Sexy Money.

No casting or production schedule for the show has been revealed thus far.
