Hitman 2 Moves Forward with a New Writer

Source:  IESB.net
It seems we might be seeing more of Agent 47 in the theaters in the near future. According to IESB.net, 20th Century Fox has hired screenwriter Kyle Ward to write a sequel to the 2007 action film, Hitman.

It was said that the first film's producers, Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon, will return, but there has been no word as of yet if stars Timothy Olyphant and Olga Kurylenko will return to the franchise.

Ward has written the scripts for upcoming films such as Kane & Lynch, which will star Bruce Willis and also the Platinum Dunes film Fiasco Heights.

We'll certainly keep you posted on any other Hitman sequel developments as soon as we have more information.

Apparently that is the main actor set to play the lead on the 's casting decision.
The Rock's role was never mentioned, but it said he would play the lead, in which the lead character in the game was Marcus.

I couldn't believe it myself when i first read it, i had read it at least 3 times, just to make sure i was reading it right.

Currently nada.
The last update i read was that Verbrinski had dropped it but this may be on directing terms because approx a week later they stated about filming outside the U.S.
Because according to literally every game magazine, his next project is called MMORPG and he has confirmed on directing this and writing the .
So i'm spectating that he is only going to produce Bioshock now, not direct, that is if it ever takes off.
I see it taking the same path as Halo, usually the epic games do.

And also Gears Of War will suck hard, apparently Chris Morgan has penned down Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson for the main lead and stating that he is a 'Awesome Fucking Actor' weather Johnson, is playing the actual game lead of Marcus is unknown, but its assumed that Marcus will remain the lead character role in the film as he did in the 2 games.

But yeah here is the film i saw Jackie Chan's son in, its called Invisible Target, this film is wicked if you love action films, and yeah you can't miss Chan's son lol, he looks exactly like him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuMhhHyL9ro

He is also a singer, just checked it out on wikipedia, just put in his name Jaycee Chan.
Because yeah look at Andy Lau, his a singer, martial artist and actor.

no Newkill,Chans son was actually a pretty good action star,i saw one of his films with Jackie and DAMN!,he can kiCk more ass than Chuck Norris.Anyway,is there any news on Bioshock,J.A.?

Actually Todd, i have to recorrect you here, unless you have a source to prove i'm wrong.

Halo was never made because it was set to be a joint-produced project between Universal and 20th Century Fox, in which both production studiops were complaining and wjhining over production costs and who does what, rather than coming to negotiations peacefully.

John Woo's best films came from the beginning of his career, like The Killer, Bullet In The Head, and many more, after his American status, he didn't do so well except with Face-Off, my opinion.
But the Uncut version to Red Cliff is pretty amazing.

I agree with the whole Jackie Chan scenario, they turned him more family adventure rather than an action star, now his roles just seem laughable and not serious, like Jim Carey.
But Jim Carey started off making people laugh while Chan didn't.

Have you seen any of the films starring Jacky Wu, Jackie Chan's son, his pretty amazing, i'd say his excels his father, i forst saw him in 'Invisible Target' check it out if you like action flicks with a wicked story line, its like Internal Affairs.

I dunno what the heck is going on with the Tekken film lol, it apparently set for a fall 2009 release date, but there is no trailer yet, nothing.
The manga cartoon was pretty good and so was the original korean live-action version called 'The Avenging Fist.'

J.A., just look what they did to Jackie Chan when they brought him over here and I loved all John Woo's American films, but when he came back to Hong Kong stuff he just wasn't the same.
Btw, does anyone know what happened to that Tekken feature film that was supposed to come out in August, I don't here anything about it anymore. I guess it was canceled.

I was only throwing a name out there, any of these films would be awesome if done right. Directors need to have their head tightened and examined, I swear some of them are so stupid.
Peter asked for too much money for Halo which was the main reason why it never got made. But if someone like him got attached to make it, it would have to take four years to make instead of 9 months to two years. I personally think it's about being dedicated enough to care about each project.

tricky question on who can paly the Fontaine character.....UM...
i should go with Jack Nicholson,he could nail it just like his
role as Joker from Tim Burton's Batman and for Halo,i could just
dream it as a movie, its has that epic intense scale of action and
emotional drama

but im not seeing halo as a movie tho... im a big fan of halo.. but just dont see it as a movie.. and plus with all the new installments to the game like halo wars, halo odst, and halo reach.. and with a big fan base, if it gets made itll def bee a big box office movie

I have the to Halo, its pretty awesome, raven.

But yeah those are the top games that i see being successful movie wise, Gears being the least successful with Bioshock, then God Of War, and Halo and MGS being the most successful

this is stupid, the first Hitman movie was shitty,it dint feel nothing like the game and i agree with both Newkill200 and J.A.
The only games to movie that will be better are:
Halo{if they done the damn project already}
Bioshock
Gears of War
God Of War
Metal Gear Solid and more.

My only complaints is that a lot of directors dont play the games first before they make it and Newkill200 is right on that,i mean
look at Uwe Boll, hes not even a filmmaker, hes a fucking asshole boxer who makes horroble games to movies flicks.Remember House of The Dead? UGH!!.

What makes you say that?

I just reckon he needs a big break into america's action cinema genre
  (Delete)
June 24th, 2009 3:02pm
lol, Tony Jaa as Liu Kang. Great. But i think Jaa personally dislikes American cinema, and doesn't want anything to do with them
  (Delete)
June 24th, 2009 2:33pm
And pow Newkill does a home fucking run around movie web, couldn't agree more mate.

And to make it worse, Vin Diesel was a producer for Hitman.

They just need dedicated people, that knoiw the product inside and out, not some random dickhead writer that sees a preview and goes hey that will make a great movie, and then they wroite the without ever playing or completing the source material and probably find all their info on Wikipedia.

Bioshock, Halo, Gears, GOW & MGS have major potential.
So does Mortal Kombat, only if its done right.
Tony Jaa for Liu Kang, anyone?
Sam Worthington as Johnny Cage?
  (Delete)
June 24th, 2009 1:21pm
Trust me, Todd, if Vin would have taken that role, he would have made it even worse. But i have to disagree with you, directors should put there own versions into already existing products, just look what Nolan did to dark Knight, he took a superhero movie and put his detective story version into it which made it great, the problem with the directors who do these video game movies are that they don't care and don't take them seriously, because they see it as only kids and young adults play video games so why work so hard on making the movie good, which is why Max Payne was complete bullshit, because John Moore didn't take the product seriously. I doubt they could make a good Halo game, simply because it's a first person shooter and I've seen the Doom movie and just think they would try to copy from that. Same thing goes for Bioshock, I doubt they would even try to give that justice. But there's one video game that I think they could do a terrific job on and that's Metal Gear Solid, simply because you wouldn't have some dumbass director fucking it up, because Hideo Kojima will be right up there beating the shit out of them.

Halo can be still made into a great film, just have the costumes and pay attention to the trilogy line, with cgi effects. The thing about Hollywood directors is they like to tell their own version, I find this annoying and it ruins a franchise.
Mortal Combat was ruined because of it, I won't play the games now.
As I said before I haven't seen this film yet, the cover of it looks cheesy and gay. I was hoping Vin would take the part, but no they went with that other guy.

I was okay with hitman. Yes, of course, it could have been better. Tim Was a good look, but i agree, not right. I always heard "Get Jason Statham!!! He's Perfect!!!" Uh no. He's not. Hitman does not possess off the wall martial arts skills. Why get Statham? Cause he's bald? If thats the case, get vin diesel. Im sure TO will be back for the role. As for Kane And Lynch, the game wasn't that bad.Could work as a movie. AL Pacino and Rob De Niro would be perfect. JK. These video game based movies are taking alot of hits, but they are still getting made. Silent Hill I feel is the best so far. Max Payne could have destroyed, instead, it was just ok. BIoshock and Halo, if it ever gets made, will most likely be the best seeing as they have a Harry Potter like fanbase. No knock intended. Just sayin, hugely popular. Has anyone heard of a Call Of Duty rumor? As well as a GTA and Assassins Creed movies? I keep hearing em but not sure if they are legit. Let me know. Thanks.

Now i will comment about Hitman , i played all hitman games and the only thing that set apart hitman from other games was the stealth , he did the missions by inflitrating and disguised him self not to be caught. In the game nobody knows ho he is except for the ones that paid him to do the job. In the film he only changes his clothes 2 times and in the 5 minutes of the movie the police knows about him , and all of his victims. I don't know what's wrong with the film makers, if you wan't to do a movie from a game stick with the god damn game don't change anything , make the film exactly like the videogame and you will have 100 % box office succes , but that's to hard the allways have to fuck things up !

Actually Bruce Willis, denied he is penned to Kane & Lynch alongside Billy Bob Thronton, whom were both slated to play the leads, they haven't even been offered the roles.
But Willis stated, he wants to be more auidence based, and that the only action film he'll do from here on out is DIE HARD.

Kane & Lynch is at a standstill, a hasn't even been written because it got dropped.

Hitman 1 sucked why make a sequel.

I waited for DVD for hitman, and it was realy good. I was not to impressed with the under tones of agent 47 and his modest feelings. The story told he was a cold blooded killer, and if thats so, one would thing he would have no issues sleeping with a woman. But the religion part is pushed heaveily. I never played the games, mainly couse I had others to play. But I am hoping the 2nd delivers. Hitman needs alot of action. And I think Tomothy Olyphant was great, but his head kinda was odd looking at times being bold. Hope he comes back couse I am less likly to go to the theater for something that is a sequal qith diffrent actors in lead roles. I loved the new Punisher movie, but didn't go to theater, and still wished they had the original actors like Thomas Jane.
