The car is a 550 HP Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang. It seems that KITT has lost its third generation GM F-body. You'll be able to see KITT in action early next year when the original telefilm premiers on NBC.

the car is cool, but I liked the Trans AM better. I think hoff needs to stop in on this show, it would be hilarious!

Mustang Cobra!!! Cool!!! Finally they realised that the red pontiac firebird that they used in that old tv movie sucks!. I hate GM Products but I have to say i liked the original KITT (Black Firebird).

I do like the idea of a new knight rider but it makes me sick to my stomach that they are going to replace kitt with a freaking mustang. It looks like a big square box with a laser light taped to the hood. I truly hope the show fails because it is stupid to replace it with a ford mustang, if you were going to change the style of the car they should have atleast made it in the form of the new camaro, like seen in transformers or a new proto-type. That's the problem with Hollywood they remake shows or films that were good back in the day and totally ruin them, with the exception of very few films and shows. Don't you agree. You just got to love it when Hollywood goes to even a new low and remakes the remake or remakes films from Japan, aka the grudge, the eye, etc.

This will suck!!!! Whats the point of even creating a new series it won't be as good as the original.

didnt they already try to revive knight rider with another show about 8 yrs ago? it was a team of cars though. all different. i watched it a few times. pure crap. it was like knight rider mixed with the cartoon MASK from the 80's. lets all hope this is much MUCH better.

BULLSHITTTTT!!!!! They are freakin crazy if they think a fucking Mustang can replace the orignal Kitt Car. What they need to do is consider a or Camaro or the SS version. Two badass cars!!

It doesn't appeal a bit. They should have used a prototype car.
