A new take on 80s classic has just found two new cast members. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki have joined the cast of the
Red Dawn remake.
Chris Hemsworth has already been cast in the film, which revolves around a group of teenagers who rise up against the Chinese and Russian forces who have invaded their town. Peck will play Matt Eckert, the role that Charlie Sheen played in the original film, the fiesty younger brother of Hemsworth's Jed Eckert. Palicki will play Toni, who was originally portrayed by Jennifer Grey, a tough girl who the brothers side up with, and who falls for Jed, the makeshift group's leader.
Dan Bradley is directing the film from a script by Jeremy Passmore and Carl Ellsworth. The film is set to begin principal photography this September, and a September 24, 2010 release date has already been set.
