ABC has decided the fate of its last freshman comedy, which will not even get to continue its full order. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled its first-year comedy series
Hank.
The series, which stars Kelsey Grammer, is currently in production on the 10th episode and production will halt after that episode has wrapped. ABC has already ran five episodes of the series, and it seems that the network isn't making any immediate plans to run the remaining five episodes. It was said that
Hank's Wednesday 8 PM slot will be filled by a combination of repeats and holiday specials.
The series kicked off the network's new Wednesday night comedy block at 8 PM, but was met by poor reviews and ratings. ABC had already picked up the other three new comedies for full seasons:
Modern Family,
The Middle and
Cougar Town.
