99.9% Confirmed! Christian Bale IS John Connor in T4, However...

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
The Hollywood Reporter is confirming what we've heard before- Christian Bale is most likely going to be John Connor in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. However, word around town is that John Connor is NOT the main character in the film, as the story focuses on a new character, with Connor taking more of a secondary role.

Pretty interesting that they're casting such a high-profile actor in such a minor role, isn't it? What could this mean?

Stay tuned for more answers...

Christian Bale should have been casted as the Terminator... hope he gets maximum screen time as Connor... with his charisma as an actor he will turn out to be the best thing in Terminator-4.

Check out the website: www.terminatorfiles.com for Terminator series info..they seem to match what alot of different movie websites statea about T4!?!?!
Also, there have been several book series and graphic novels associated with the Terminator series. The films have been novelized as well.
has been confirmed that T4 will take place after the events of T3, and will focus mainly on the war between man and Skynet.
So at this point anything goes!!!

According to "Movie Database" plot summary for
"Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" will be:
After the drastic effects of "Terminator 3", the story continues as John Connor and soon to be wife Kate Brewster realize they must create a resistance organization with Earth's remaining survivors against the army of robots slowly being built up by Skynet. As they are building this resistance, one survivor happens to be a traitor in disguise, and has a secret that nobody would ever come to suspect.

There is also this "rumor", that Vin Diesel is taking meetings with the Terminator people and the assumption is it's about him being a Terminator???

The new movies may also focus around mike biehns' character in the first movie"Reese" he is very important because after all he is johns father!!! Time travel is soooooo confusing!

These "Terminator" rumors just get better and better!
Christian Bale should be interesting, but I agree John Connor can't be a "minor" role. The films revolved around him. I wondering why James Cameron is not involved, or what he thinks of these changes??
I'm still scratching my head over "McG" directing?? I mean this is the man who gave us such silly films as:
"Charlie's Angels", "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle", "We Are Marshall", and "Stay Alive"!
I ageree W./"Space101". The first 2 Terminators were good, & the 3rd came from left field with ending. The 4th film has potential, but without John Connor in a major role it will suck. Also what about Arnold Schwarzenegger and/Or Linda Hamilton to? Will they even be mentioned?
I just can't believe James Cameon let this slip though his fingers!??
On May 9, 2007, it was announced that rights to the Terminator series had passed hands from producers Andrew G. Vajna and Mario Kassar to the Halcyon Co., a privately funded company formed by entrepreneurs Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson. In a Variety article detailing the purchase, it states the fourth film is now earmarked for a summer 2009 release and will focus on a 30-year old John Connor in what the producers hope will be a new trilogy.
This could be really really good, exciting & fresh, or just silly and stupid to make a boatload of cash short on story, substance and/Or plot!

well i didnty like the third one. it had some good moments but overall style change in how everything was approached and i think that is due to director changes. but i do agree that Bale does not deserve a minor role and John Connor being a minor role is very stupid. The Connor's have been the main characters in every single movie so far. The franchise storyline would not make sense if the focus went to someone else. That would be dumb. I actually like Christian Bale as John Connor, but it needs to be as a major role not minor.

Hey, all three Terminators were awesome, but you're walking on thin ice if you make John Conner a minor role. I mean, all three revolved around him and his mom, why wouldn't it now? If John DOES end up a minor role, they better have a damn good excuse for it, or else this movie's gonna bomb (and I mean BAD) with the Terminator fans (like me).

Word. Question is, after the crapfest that is T3, do we really care?

Arnold in the first Terminator is the main character, he has a lethal badass persona. You gotta have hero (struggle) with the villain (to conflict/play off each other).
