Judd Apatow is ready to begin production on his latest comedy for Universal Pictures titled
Five-Year Engagement. According to
Variety, Nick Stoller has signed on to direct the comedy, which reunites him with
Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-writer and actor Jason Segel.
Five-Year Engagement is a comedy that charts the five-year engagement of a man (Segel) and his fiancee, following the ups and downs of their relationship. "It's definitely an extension of our desire to explore the depth of human misery," Stoller said. "If Sarah Marshall (played by Kristen Bell) and Jason's character had stayed together, this might be the sequel."
Universal Pictures has not announced when production for
Five-Year Engagement is scheduled to begin.
