Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Marvel and Paramount are considering transferring
Iron Man 2 into 3D.
According to the story:
There is a 1 minute demo of
Iron Man 2 converted to high quality digital 3D. I'm told this one minute is totally like Kim Basinger & Mickey Rourke in
9 1/2 Weeks. HOT! Crazy Hot! Right now the Suits at Marvel & Paramount & now also Disney are considering this 1 minute.
Apparently, Marvel and Universal are taking bids from three separate companies to compare the costs of doing this. Should the numbers make financial sense, it seems that there is even talk of converting the original
Iron Man to 3D.

Damn typos
1) Hurts my eyes after a while and I don't like wearing glasses during a movie cause it's uncomfortable (and I don't wear normal glasses anyway for that reason).
2) Iron Man 2 will be great without 3D. It's a last minute gimmick. Everyone can see that. It's not like we are bringing down the wraith of God saying that it's a gimmick when it's obviously true. Yeah the gimmick might work for kids, but it's not gonna get passed the more mature and older audience who love Iron Man.
3) For example, in my city, Beowulf was only 3D at the theater, and it cost even more because of it being 3D. It wasn't ridiculously extra but yeah $3.00 added TO the high price you're already paying, to see a movie ONCE in a theater that's crowded, sticky floor (depending on the theater), people's cell phones going off during the movie, people kicking your chair or tapping their foot against your chair because of some weird body habit they seem to do when they are waiting or bored, people bringing their kids to a midnight release on top of all that, and then there's going to be even more annoying kids because of the 3D-ness. I think there are more highschool to 30-year-old-ish people that goto the superhero movies than small children (at least at my main local theater where I live). So if this is the case in most places (I could be way off who knows), what's the point of using this gimmick? So more kids will see it? "Oh it's 3D so let's go see it Mom"? lol. This is why it doesn't make sense.
4) And to add to my #3, it will cost them more money to do this. Iron Man did well, don't fuck up it's name now with using gimmicks we can see past. We aren't idiots. No offense to those who don't see it as that. They are talking to multiple studios over this? Over 3D? Because they are unsure? Or because it's too expensive? I don't get it. JA Ottley might be right in this being bullshit.
5) Not everyone will agree. Some people like oranges over apples. Not a big deal. But what is a big deal, is when you start accusing people who proply disagree, close minded or whatever, then that's a personal attack against people who disagree. Anyone can throw out words like that. It's like saying people who don't approve of the gay community being called "homophobes". (Not saying anyone is this or whatever just strictly making an example of word usuage). Or calling anyone who listens to music about love, loss and regret "emo". You know how many times I hear that bullshit? A lot. Because of actual ignorant people. Close minded is pretty vague. I think the real definition of "close minded" means that you are completely against something and will make sure everyone can't like it either. People try to bring other people down all the time because of close-minded-ness. Instead of having the choice of liking it or not, we are forced by OTHER people into liking it, even though we may or may not want to or agree upon. It's life. As long as you're not trying to force people to love 3D you'll be fine. Not everything needs to be 3D. Certain films CAN be, which is perfectly fine. This is no good, creative reason to have this film be 3D. If the reason is money, then like I said, not a good reason lol.
Sorry this was soo long! :/
Closed Minded: the act of being unreceptive to new ideas or information.
Stuborn: perversely adhering to an opinion, purpose, or course in spite of reason, arguments, or persuasion.
I hope this helps to better clarifies these terms for you. note: you are the second one.
Pearlnin: your words, "All the people who are hating on it now, are you seriously that close minded that you'll even think that the people who care for 3D will even give your opinions a second thought."
Not only is that not what you just disputed in the your last comment, but what you said there has absolutely, I repeat, AB-SO-LUTE-LY nothing to do with being closed minded. At least Vanboy was in the general vicinity, and I can see where he was mistaken, but you my dear sir are a Class-A Moron with no idea of what he is saying.
I think those statements pretty much some up, that you feel we are closed minded.
Na dude look at my HALLOWEEN 3D comment on that board. There's a point that studios can reach to just make bullshit like this H3D Reboot(maybe) crap! I mean seriously.
Iron Man 3D is probably nothing or something big either way I can't wait. But as for the people who can't see the 3D, I can almost guarantee you all; that if this is big, which it probably will be, You will see IMAX 3D, or just regular 3D building sites popping up everywhere in the future. I understand that few 3D films are made at the moment but there has to be a lot of ideas floating around out there!
Dalewood wtf? lol
Now as to what I'm calling you guys, what I said you are is stuborn with selective attention. Not every body will get the choice to choose weather they see a movie in 3D, only people in large cities.
Me and 2 other people mentioned it and you guys still seek to use the whole "well if you don't like, you dont have to watch it" argument, which makes you look like you don't pay attention to anything that doesn't agree with you.
You know what Vanboy you act like your shit doesn't think, like you got all the answers and any one that disagrees is ignorant, uneducated or closeminded. But in the end your the biggest idiot of all. Half the shit that comes out of your mouth makes me laugh. Acting smug, and patronizing people doesn't make you smart, it makes you sound like a douche bag who doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about and so he belittles people to make himself look like he's in the right. Your a fucking dumb ass, get a clue!
That's it...punch and run and hide. Have you nothing constructive to add, than just a hateful comment?! I mean that was really pointless, at this point of the conversation. At least elaborate on your stance for crying out loud.
I saw that trailer in 2D. It looked obvious and stupid. In other words, a movie made with 3D gimmicks INTENDED does not translate well into a 2D format. And if a film is talking 3D before post-production or filming occur, that means 3D gimmicks will be included.
My personal opinion, i'm slating this article down as Bullshit, until confirmed.
Why compare companies and bids/ finanicial costs when Disney have Disney Digital 3D to their disposal, in which they now own marvel?
that doesn't make sense and neither does the other questions i placed in my first comment post, refer to it and your catch my drift.
Agree on the last point though, technology is moving so fast we cant keep up with it
Plus I do like 3D films, it just getting too much attention and its going to fast.
I like all technology, but I heard about the chip in the head sort of deal and a few other things. As a race we need to catch up to our own technology not the other way around.
3D is a next step in the film making industry, IMAX 3D is the evolution, not 3D major difference there.
Like o've stated i don't mind 3D films, but the film has to be worthy of the stature to be a 3D film, and that doesn't really go down well with Superhero movies. Most probable superhero movie that would look good in 3D is most probable, Spiderman, the rest nah i can't visualise it.
The whole Disney/Marvel thing aint a bad thing guys, as long as Disney don't get creative control over the films, marvel still control complete creative control over the comics, its slated that the marvel deal mainly consists out their theme parks and distribution, if that's the case it doesn't bother me.
Marvel still have complete control on their products, they can just now merge them with Disney Chracters.
This could be interesting considering that Marvel & Disney, have explored interest in a 'CIVIL WAR' film.
This could be a downfall or a rise for both marvel or disney, just look on the brighter side.
Also the people that keep saying that FOX, SONY blah blah this studio should give the rights back, now note that rights revert to Disney & Marvel automatically, this is a plus and it really doesn't seem like Disney are trying to control marvel production line.
Thats my peace.
Reason two directors on all sides will get pushed around,
three: Disney is for kids
four: Eventually Marvel will say something stupid
Five: Disney will try to take over the industry
Six: A lot of lay offs
There are a lot more reasons why it's a bad idea
