Walt Disney Pictures has released a sneak peak for the animated musical The Princess and the Frog, releasing a teaser trailer on its official website for the feature that is set to open in theaters Christmas 2009. Check out those frog lips below!


A musical set in the legendary birthplace of jazz -- New Orleans -- The Princess and the Frog will introduce the newest Disney princess, Maddy, a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana's mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn. Randy Newman will will write songs and the score for the film.

I'm there!! I like Disney. Nice to see them go back to there roots.

But why Christmas 2009??!??

Yes! I knew Disney would return to their routes! 2D animation is the ONLY way to go for these types of films. And nice to see the guys who brought The Little Mermaid to life are directing this. Sure to be a winner!

You know there has been controversy over this movie.People are saying that its racist that its a black princess living in New orleans because the people who are complaining think that disney thinks that New orleans is a bunch of black people.And there was controversy over the name.It was gonna be Latifah or something but the people who were complaining that that was racist to give a black girl a funky name so they changed the name to Maddy.
