Liev Schreiber to Play Victor Creed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Source:  CHUD.com
Movie PictureAccording to a story from CHUD.com, it seems that the X-Men Origins: Wolverine has found its Sabretooth in Liev Schreiber.

We previously reported that Schrieber was in talks to take over the role of a younger William Stryker, a role inhabited by Bryan Cox in X2: X-Men United

As for who now will play the Stryker character in the prequel, the story claims that Dexter star Michael C. Hall is atop the producers list, and they also speculate that Michelle Monaghan is a front-runner to play Silver Fox.

Naturally, we'll have more on this as it develops.

I agree Radimus. Tyler Mane was a horrible Sabertooth. Even worse Mike Myers. Ill give Liev a shot though. If Heath can change my mind, He could too

k bloodtype your goping back on yourself when you say go back to "Tyler Mane" (with a y) he couldn't act like logans father either! yeah he was tall and kinda built, but he brought nothing to X-men 1 except some grunts and uughs! just like they did with vinnie jones, the movie people behind this will surprise everybody! their not completely stupid, and it's not the first time they have done casting for a movie,. i'd deff wouldn't want Tyler Mane back, thats for damn sure!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh Shhhhhhhhiiiiiit. No, come on movie people, nothing against the guy, I mean I like him in 1998 Phantoms, but as Sabretooth,"(NO!)". I mean Sabretooth is Wolverines father in the cartoon and was much bigger than Wolverine. And Hugh Jackman said that he will bulk up bigger than he was in the last installments portraying Wolverine in X men 1,and 2, and 3, So how in the hell is he goingto show dedication like that by bulking up more than Hugh Jackman. He has to love being the character and Hugh Jackman loves the chracter Wolverine. I don't think it can be done, "(not with this guy)", but maybe and hopefully they won't screw this up. They should've stuck With Talor Mane.

LMFAO Triple H can't act this guy has had lots of critical aclaim for his roles he's much better for the part. Michael C Hall as Stryker would be perfection

I think he has a good facial appearence to play Sabertooth. With the right costume and makeup, he should be a good pick. Also, just want to point out to tyler13d that Vinny Jones wore a full body suit to play Juggernaut. Sure Vinny is well built, but he's not even close to being that big.

i agree with radimus also. don't jump the gun. don't judge. maybe he will be a good sabertooth after all. although i do hope they have other mutants in here.

I agree with you, radimus-83. Everybody went apesh-- when they heard Ledger was playing the Joker, but now they can't get enough of him! Butler wouldn't make a good Sabretooth either. Sure he was kickass in 300, but that doesn't mean he could portray Victor Creed. Let's give Schrieber a chance and see how he is as news comes for this movie, like with Ledger and the Dark Knight.

oh another point i'd make is the new batman movie. heath ledger as joker? people jumped at that aswell but so far what i've seen he looks and sounds really cool! i just don't like it when people rip the shit outa something so easily. and i don't think butler could do it anyway, just read an iterveiw with him saying he was doing a movie at the same time.

oh yeah butler would be 1st class!! but we don't got him! and dude where you from? i grew up watching vinnie jones play football, he's 6 ft 2 at best! and no bigger build that schreiber. and honestly, look at the pic above, you can't say that he hasn't got the face for creed? as for the build, butler wasn't big till he trained for 300. so it could be done!

Dude, Vinnie Jones HAS the frame to play Juggernaut...he is one tall, bulked up, mean looking guy (sure they added some effects to make him look even more ripped but he had pretty much to start with), Liev Schreiber is as intimidating as the average joe can get...sure maybe he can act, but for a character like sabretooth that just aint enough. Thats why most people were pretty much in favor of Gerald Butler playing the part : He's a good actor AND has the physique. We do agree on the triple H thing tho...:)

what you talking about tyler? vinnie jones played juggernut for heavens sake, and he was 1 of the best things about x-men 3!!! and this guys a good actor,, way better than triple H! ( blade 3 was his acting career lol) this is juast like the x-men movies, taking in good actors!!

A very VERY poor casting choice...C'mon get this guy to play Toad or some second rate mutant okay, heck, even Striker was fine for him...but SABRETOOTH??! Half the movie's budget will probably be invested in all the steroids they'll have to pack into this guy before he portrays a credible victor creed...so what next hollywood people? The Hulk fights Pee Wee?

my question is, are they going to feature bullseye or omega red or any other of the people who were part of the WEAPON X project? or is this going to be another "wolverine/sabretooth" movie? that will get real boring real fast.

I must agree with Immortal. I thought long ago Triple H would be perfect. Fits him to the T. Regardless of size, Triple h I believe is taller than hugh. But still, he would have been a better choice. Not Liev. Not doubting his acting ability, but just not the right choice.

its obvious everyone wanted to see butler, but I can see liev pulling it off nicely, they will def bulk him up, they won't let a pencil play the role of wolverine's brother

Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth...LOL!!! This is the worst casting I have seen!! I mean come on people! I agree he is to lanky, doesn't have the buffness to pull if off! Yeah what happend to Gerard Butler???

If anything he could play maverick or another mutant but not sabretooth. they should cast and i cna't believe im saying this Triple H. only cause he has the size, the hair and he could probably scream loud enough. hed be perfect. granted triple h and Hugh jackman are the same size which sucks but still hed be perfect.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! What the hell is wrong with you movie people. take that cork out of your butt and put Gerard Butler back as Sabretooth. Hugh vs Gerard kicking the shit out of each other and their ego to match it would be GREAT. that's what we want to see.

January 11th, 2008 4:33pm
I think they should have looked for someone a little more tone. He's too lanky to pull of Sabretooth. Sabretooth has to be insane and vicious. This guy don't look like he can play the part

Good choice!, good actor I wonder if any filming will be done in Canada? since most of his origin story is set up here cause well wolverine is Canadian!

Does anyone Really think the dude from scream should be sabretooth....sounds kind of corny. But Hollywood can pull stuff off like that occasionally.

I can see him playing this role but I think they still should have gone with either Tyler Mane or Butler. Oh well, coulda woulda shoulda.
