Fans were overjoyed to hear that
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace alumni Ray Park had been cast in the role of Snake Eyes in the live-action
G.I. Joe film coming from Paramount Pictures. But the question on everyone's mind after that was "Who will be playing his arch-foe, Storm Shadow?"
IESB has an answer for us, saying that Byung-hun Lee will be taking the role of Cobra's resident ninja.
Lee is a 27-year Korean film star who is currently shooting
The Good, The Bad and The Weird, where he will be taking the role of The Bad.
IESB also says that Rachel Nichols may be signed for the role of Scarlett, although official confirmation is still forthcoming for that bit of casting news.
G.I. Joe is scheduled for an August 7. 2009 release. Hasbro has confirmed that the film will follow the "G.I. Joe vs. Cobra" storyline that was featured in the cartoon of the 1980's, and that the rivalry between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow will be central to the film.

We are going to see the beginning of Cobra as an enemy of the "Joes". How Cobra Commander was created, Destro's rise to power as the leader of Cobra, as he should have been to begin with(Curse you, self righteous Cobra commander). Also I now hear there is no World Ending Device as in every one of the cartoons.(Who wants to rule a dead planet anyway?)
So maybe the younger, lesser known cast is a good sign... I for one hope so!!!!
