The Witches of Eastwick Cast Spell at ABC

Source:  Variety
ABC has cast a pilot order for a new series based on The Witches of Eastwick to be written by Maggie Friedman (Dawson's Creek).

According to Variety, the supernatural tale is said to be a variation on the 1987 feature of the same name.

The movie, The Witches of Eastwick, which starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer, was based on the John Updike novel about three women who turn to witchcraft after losing (or booting) the men in their lives. They conjure up a devil-like character, who then proceeds to seduce all three of them.

It could be cute if it stays close to the ideas from the book and the film.

Charmed ruled! Anyhow, Cher's one of my favorites, and I loved The Witches of Eastwick, so I'm curious to see how this plays out.
