A few days ago we
reported that Shia LaBeouf indicated that a follow-up to
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and now we have more confirmation that this film is moving forward.
Empire recently chatted with producer Frank Marshall, who confirmed that the film is being readied and gave a few more details as well. Here's an excerpt from the article.
Although he didn't specify timelines, Marshall told Empire that ideas would be worked on with a view to green-lighting production sooner rather than later. "It's really about the script," says the veteran Indy producer. "Once we see that, we'll see. We're not going to wait another 20 years. We'd all love to make another one. I'm anxious to hear the idea!"
But are Mssrs. Spielberg, Ford and Lucas equally sold on a fifth outing for the whip-cracking archeologist? "Yeah. We had a great time making the last one and, as Harrison said, we need to make this one soon. We're not getting any younger."

"Indiana Jones and the Passing of the Torch"
AKA Indy's only in the beginning then Shia takes over lol
to train him to take the INDY torch! They even twisted the to make sure he is Indy.jr! So the next film will be the beginning of a whole new franchise, with SHIA as the next generation JONES!
I don't even have a problem with a new generation of INDY, but not SHIA, and not with the direction they are taking the series.
As for FRANK MARSHALL; he's 'produced' alot of decent shows & films, but he has directed ALIVE, CONGO, ARACHNOPHOBIA & 8 BELOW. Not the kinda credentials i want an indy 'director' to have.
OH, and as INDY.KFTCS sucked! It was all over the place. INDY has always been campy, but this was campy and unfunny.
Well my guess is that the villians will the the Soviet Union aging. The Story for the 4th one was fresh and new not the best but was good.
I'll be sure to see this one.
But I know that the news will not live up to the old ones for the fact that, that time has passed, we must look into what they are doing now and of course the news one will fail to live up to our expectations if we constantly compare them to the old ones. Enjoy what comes out now, errr or try to.
