Producer Frank Marshall Confirms Indiana Jones 5 Is in the Works

Source:  Empire
Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones Indiana JonesA few days ago we reported that Shia LaBeouf indicated that a follow-up to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and now we have more confirmation that this film is moving forward. Empire recently chatted with producer Frank Marshall, who confirmed that the film is being readied and gave a few more details as well. Here's an excerpt from the article.

Although he didn't specify timelines, Marshall told Empire that ideas would be worked on with a view to green-lighting production sooner rather than later. "It's really about the script," says the veteran Indy producer. "Once we see that, we'll see. We're not going to wait another 20 years. We'd all love to make another one. I'm anxious to hear the idea!"

But are Mssrs. Spielberg, Ford and Lucas equally sold on a fifth outing for the whip-cracking archeologist? "Yeah. We had a great time making the last one and, as Harrison said, we need to make this one soon. We're not getting any younger."

Wow, I know Lucas and Speilberg talked about 5 films total, but that was back in the day, I mean c'mon. Think how the films have progressed so far, what could it be titled now?

"Indiana Jones and the Passing of the Torch"
AKA Indy's only in the beginning then Shia takes over lol

Cool. I know they will listen to fans and learn from their previous mistakes in the 4th which was still pretty good. I too want a different sidekick like Salah (however u spell it). He was my fave. Either way, I'm psyched.

i don't think FORD will return for another indy. That's why they got the over-animated SHIA in the previous film;
to train him to take the INDY torch! They even twisted the to make sure he is Indy.jr! So the next film will be the beginning of a whole new franchise, with SHIA as the next generation JONES!

I don't even have a problem with a new generation of INDY, but not SHIA, and not with the direction they are taking the series.

As for FRANK MARSHALL; he's 'produced' alot of decent shows & films, but he has directed ALIVE, CONGO, ARACHNOPHOBIA & 8 BELOW. Not the kinda credentials i want an indy 'director' to have.

OH, and as INDY.KFTCS sucked! It was all over the place. INDY has always been campy, but this was campy and unfunny.

My fav of all was the Last Crusade that one was the best i think.
Well my guess is that the villians will the the Soviet Union aging. The Story for the 4th one was fresh and new not the best but was good.

Ya the 4th wasnt the best still not the worst. I think Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford learned what people liked and didnt like about the last one so I could see the 5th installment being better.

like I said before, i dont hate the fourth movie but im not crazy about it. it wasnt that horrible. I just loved seeing the character again. I trust Steven Spielberg, even if he has made some mistakes which everyone does, i trust him totally. George is the one i have doubts about. I dont think Shia should be in the next one. Just like every other movie, the sidekick/women is gone. There should be a new sidekick. They should bring back Sahla. Or something new, just not Mutt.

People hated Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystul skull, but i absolutely loved it, even with the alien story, it didn't matter because it was just great to see the man back. So if they want to make another Indy, bring it on.......let me mark my calendar.

Agreed, next one is gonna suck, cause the creators are under that impression of "as long as we're the franchise alive people will love it." but that subpar attitude is what left us with that piece of garbage known as the Indiana Jones 4. They need to watch the South Park episode so they can see what people truly think of what they have done with Indy.

Of coarse as fans we expect Greatness...espically if it's a sequel from such greatness. That's the problem... everyone is happy with these sequels being just ok...God Dammit that's not exceptable from films that set the premesis for all other films in this category to follow. I don't understand as a true Indy Fan, that you think these sequels are any good...there complete Trash!!!

The story of INDY 4 didn't bother it was some of the acting from the great Ford and the goddamn monkey part.

I'll be sure to see this one.

But I know that the news will not live up to the old ones for the fact that, that time has passed, we must look into what they are doing now and of course the news one will fail to live up to our expectations if we constantly compare them to the old ones. Enjoy what comes out now, errr or try to.
