It seems that Will Smith's son will have an Oscar-nominated on-screen mother for his upcoming remake. According to
MTV Movies Blog, Taraji P. Henson has revealed she will star in
The Karate Kid remake.
"I'm off to Beijing [soon] to work on a film," actress Taraji P. Henson revealed to us Sunday afternoon on the red carpet of the MTV Movie Awards. "They're remaking
The Karate Kid."
The site revealed that Henson, who was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting performance in
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, was set to play Sherry, the mother to the lead character, who is being portrayed by Jaden Smith.
It was also said that Henson's character Sherry is forced to move with her son to Beijing to keep her job.

This movie has massive epic fail written all over it. Will Smith can do no wrong, but his son and whoever decided to make this, well they're just cursed.
