According to , director Peter Jackson (
The Lord of the Rings,
King Kong,
The Lovely Bones) will be attending his first Comic-con this year in support of the sci-fi thriller,
District 9, which he produced.
"I'm thrilled that I finally have the opportunity," Mr. Jackson said in an e-mail message. "Neill is a tremendously talented young director, and he's made an extraordinary film, so it was important to me to come to San Diego to spread the word." He added that attendees will be in for "quite a ride," but did not elaborate.
Directed by Neill Blomkamp, and set for release on August 14th,
District 9 depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa.
Do you think fans will be questioning him about the upcoming Guillermo del Toro-directed
Hobbit films he's producing? I'd say so. Hopefully we get some juicy bits from this year's convention.

Pumped for District 9, and the Hobbit....
However I hope the studios get their act together. I know their afraid of all the money size of production and effects, and all that, that will have to go into making it, but maybe after they see Avatar, and see that a 300 million movie can do it(I hope it does), they will back it once more. And if so, PJ should direct.
Anyway, that aside, I am very much looking forward to District 9, I have a feeling it is going to be one of those films that blows people away! Blomkamp certainly seems to have some skill and I am anxious to see how it translates onto the big screen for his feature film debut.
Now they just need to get Halo back on track......and done right, because Halo is one of the few video game adaptations that could be a masterpiece!!!!
NO DOCUMENTARY STYLE FOR HALO!!!!
