Jennifer Connelly Joins The Day the Earth Stood Still

I don't have anything against remakes, especially when they turn out better than the originals. I would just like to see more original ideas come out.

By the way, I just read recently that Jaden Smith, Will Smith's son, got the part of Connelly's step-son.

A crime against celluloid!!!

There is no "NASA official" in the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still". The wise doctor in the film was an Einstein type, university-affiliated, character, not a government bureaucrat. Having a NASA government official trying to help Klaatu is silly. A NASA official can't call together all the great scientists and intellectuals of the world because of international politics, which is the very problem Klaatu has come to earth to warn about. Prof. Jacob Barnhardt (in the original film), on the other hand, not being a government man, could unite them, which was one of the main points of the movie.

I think these movie writers can't come up with anything on their own.

I like how everyone says they are sick of remakes and yet they still go to the theatre and see them. I think this sounds cool.

Yeah, seriously. STOP IT!

Another remake?! Hollywood can't come up with new ideas? I'll still see it, on bootleg, because Keanu will be in it.
