Ryan Reynolds Discusses Green Lantern and Deadpool
November 25th, 2009
MTV recently spoke with actor Ryan Reynolds, who's having one hell of a 2009, starring in two of the 10 highest grossing films of the year with X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Proposal. The site asked him about playing the lead in two upcoming superhero films, Green Lantern and Deadpool. Here's what he had to say about Green Lantern below.I've known about Green Lantern my whole life, but I've never really followed it before. I fell in love with the character when I met with [director] Martin Campbell. When I sat down with him, I really got what it is that this guy is all about. When you have a guy like Martin Campbell, part of his charm is that he has ba--s of titanium, and the other part is that he's slightly crazy, and you have to be to take on something with the scope of Green Lantern. He's less of the director and more of a general. He just really knows strategies, he knows the intricacies, and his attention to detail! It's infectious. I sat down with him, and I could not even believe what he was saying. When I went to the meeting, I was entirely cynical. I thought, "What the hell, I'll see what they have to say," and I left the room with a completely different perspective.
On Deadpool, Reynolds said that they're currently working on building on the character from the previous film.
I've been in so many meetings lately about Deadpool and meeting all these writers. Everyone is always looking for that one line, "What is that character?" and for me it's kind of like, "There's a guy, and he's in a highly militarized comedic fame spiral." That's not an easy thing to write -- an entire screenplay, let alone a franchise. I had a blast playing Wade. Every line I had in that was stuff I thought he would say. It wasn't something that a writer said to me. It was fun to really create that character, including everything he spits out of his awful mouth.

Guys, Superjerk's feelings are still hurting...play nice.
And yeah Chad, I personally like Deadpool better, but Green Lantern has unbelievable awesome mythos and back story that surpasses Deadpool's mysterious character. So I am far more excited for GL. My personal favorite Lantern however, is Kyle Rayner. Hal Jordans a close second.
anyways back on point. im very excited for GL. i think RR will kill the role. but, at the same time, i wanna see deadpool just as bad. not even for the story, but reynolds sarcastic persona is to perfect for the role, no matter the plot itll be entertaining as hell.

Only by the loosest of definitions. I pointed out a fact, it's stupid to make your name an insult. So shut your dirty whore mouth and move on.
Speaking of fools, I want you to think about this for a second...have you ever shown up at a party without an invite? Then once you get there, the music stops and everyone glares at you with a look of "What the hell is this douchebag doing here?" That's what I am reminded of on this post right now.
What's that word you use? The one that doesn't seem to do any justice to your brainless statement of clearly no knowledge all together?
Oh yeah, OWNED (and super jerk? What are you 6?)
