While Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company has been swirling around the
A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, the original Freddy Krueger himself revealed an interesting item.
JoBlo is reporting that Robert Englund, while on the late-night radio program
Loveline to promote his latest film,
Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, offered the latest gossip he heard about who would step into the role: Billy Bob Thornton.
Of course, this hasn't been confirmed and it can be considered just a rumor at this point, but Englund did state that he wasn't against being replaced for the redo and that he hopes the movie's bigger budget will allow for better dream effects that the original couldn't afford.
We'll keep you posted on this interesting development as soon as more information arises.

Billy Bob is a good idea but after seeing Mr. Woodcock I am all for a Thornton-less Elm Street remake.
