Star Trek Fans Will Flock to Blockbuster for the DVD Release

Source:  Blockbuster
Trekkies are invited to boldly go where no fan has gone before - to a first-ever Star Trek celebration at select Blockbuster stores across the country. Stores in 20 cities will host midnight DVD release parties tonight for the box office hit Star Trek starring Chris Pine. The events will give Trekkies of all ages the chance to be among the first to rent or purchase the movie on DVD or Blu-ray when it is released at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Blockbuster Inc. is hosting the celebrations that will include pre-release screenings of the movie at 10 p.m., in addition to entertainment and the opportunity to win official Star Trek memorabilia like theatrical posters, collectible comic books and Delta pins, all before the official release at midnight. Hundreds of other Blockbuster stores across the country will also stay open late to accommodate fans looking to be the first to rent or own Star Trek.

Star Trek will be available for rent or purchase while supplies last at participating Blockbuster stores and online at Blockbuster.com on the movie's nationwide release date of Tuesday, Nov. 17. In addition to the single-disc DVD, Blockbuster will be offering two special editions: a two-disc DVD version and a three-disc Blu-ray version, both of which include digital copies of the movie, added special features and free trial games.
