Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle comes to DVD January 4th
October 4th, 2004
Movie Picture Prepare for the funniest “trip” imaginable in the hilarious comedy Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, available January 4, 2005, on DVD and VHS from New Line Home Entertainment. Featuring rising stars John Cho (American Pie, Better Luck Tomorrow) and Kal Penn (National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, Malibu’s Most Wanted), Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle takes the buddy comedy genre to mind-altering new “highs” in both R-rated and Extreme Unrated Editions. The Extreme Unrated Edition features never-before-seen, uncensored footage not shown in theaters. Packed with extras, both versions of the DVD will be priced to own at $27.95 SRP, while the VHS will be available for rental. The single unit order due date is November 30, 2004.Along with Cho and Penn, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle features a wild cast of hilarious supporting players and cameos, including Neil Patrick Harris (TV’s Doogie Howser, M.D.), Fred Willard (A Mighty Wind), Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Pie), Ethan Embry (Sweet Home Alabama), Jamie Kennedy (Malibu’s Most Wanted), Anthony Anderson (Scary Movie 3), Christopher Meloni (TV’s Law & Order S.V.U.) and Ryan Reynolds (National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, upcoming Blade: Trinity).
“In the hilarious tradition of Old School and Animal House, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle is a wild and irreverent comedy that is certain to become a cult-classic,” said Justine Brody, vice president of marketing, New Line Home Entertainment. “An Extreme Unrated edition offers even edgier footage and extras, available to audiences for the first time ever.”
Straitlaced, by-the-book Harold (Cho) and his roommate, the rebellious Kumar (Penn), have only one thing in common – a serious case of the munchies. As they set out on a quest to satisfy their craving for White Castle hamburgers, their simple road trip turns into a hilarious, all-night epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild trip through New Jersey – as “un-PC” as it gets. Along the way, Harold and Kumar meet an array of crazy characters and one screwy obstacle after another (not to mention one rabid raccoon and an escaped cheetah on the run), but with every step of the journey, they somehow manage to keep their eye on the tasty prize, learning more than they bargained for about themselves and each other in the process.
