Big Love is Renewed for a Second Season

April 19th, 2006
HBO has renewed Big Love for a second season, according to Variety.

The Network has ordered more of the polygamy drama from Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's Playtone Prods. The number of episodes for season two has not been determined.

Big Love got off to a strong start post-The Sopranos, netting 4.56 million viewers (2.2/5 in 18-49) on March 12. Tally outdrew the debut of Rome, which attracted 3.8 million, albeit without the benefit of a Sopranos lead-in.

Big Love centers on a polygamist, played by Bill Paxton, and the relationships he has with his three wives played by Chloe Sevigny, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin. Harry Dean Stanton and Grace Zabriskie co-star.
