First Look at World War Z Concept Art!

Source:  iO9
iO9 has just released some new concept art for the upcoming zombie war film, World War Z, which is directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace). Take a look at the concept art that Daniel LuVisi posted below.

World War Z Concept Art

LuVisi also attached a brief note about the artwork as well.

This is the image I did, to get on the film World War Z with Marc Forster, director of Quantum of Solace. Can't say whats going on or what the outcome is right now, but it's not in the negative zone :)

This was one of the most difficult images I've ever done. Incredibly challenging to the point where I wanted to quit. But through thick and thin I forced myself to complete it.

World War Z is currently aiming for a 2010 release date.

Who the fuck says Zombies can't run or "go upstairs." They're fictional movie monsters. They are what filmmakers make them. You sound like Romero. He believes he's the fucking Messiah of all freaking zombies. Guess what George...your take was good 30 years ago, it's time to let it go. This looks fucking epic

I'm thinking of all the zombie movies I've seen, which isn't many (so I obviously don't know what I'm talking about, but bare with me)...they haven't been following the formula for a real 'zombie' movie at all. Zombies can't run (such as in Dawn of the Dead). I don't think they can go up stairs (28 Days Later)...and I don't. I don't think we've been following the "true" zombie formula since the orginial DOTD back in the 70's. Yeah, there is another formula...but it's not a zombie movie...it's our century's take on the zombie film

I Am Legend's creatures were more like vampires than zombies. Check out 2005's Dawn of the Dead

awesome but kinda looks more like a video game like left for dead or resident evil.

interesting point, Agent Vis. if it helps, i did enjoy i am legend (if you count those as zombies) i guess what i tried to say was im tired of the same-old-walking-slow-run-away-and-never-get-caught zombies. World war z does sound like an epic title, and i guess if the zombies are like those in i am legend, i could get in to it. looks like an awesome picture. who wrote the book so i can read it again?

Looks pretty cool. The book is awesome. Too bad Marc Forster is a sh*tty director.

movie nut: Zombie movies are stupid when people like George Romero consistently think it's a good idea to showcase the same stupid take on the genre. Movies like Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later, and even Quarantine actually bring something different to the zombie genre. The last two I listed are "upgrades" on the genre, in which people turn into cannibalistic-like creatures instead of the dead rising. Changes like that are needed to make zombie movies, well, not stupid. With this movie, it looks like we'll see an EPIC and TRUE zombie flick. Armies of the walking dead...if the title and this pic doesn't say it all and doesn't get you interested, then idk what will

I enjoyed the book. Can't wait for this to come out. Kind of reminds me of Resistance, but with zombies instead.

This is going to be amazing.

It is taken from one of the most amazing source materials known to anyone in the world.

The genius mind of Max Brooks.

If you have not read this book, or it's predecessor, The Zombie Survival Guide, go out and pick up a copy of both books today.
