I am a desperate mom with three children and I am contacting everyone I can think of. I requested a meeting with President Obama. What some of these banking and mortgage institutes are doing would be enough for a show.
Please read the following to help you understand what is happening. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I need your help!!! I AM DESPERATE FOR YOUR HELP!!! I am a mother of three children. I left an abusive home in September of 2006 to protect my three children and me. We suffered from domestic violence far too long. Apparently I've lost my home and I didn't realize it. My children continue to suffer from the actions of their abusive father and now they are suffering from abuse by our lending institution. Please read on to understand. I'VE NOT PUT UP A TREE OR ANY DECORATIONS. I DON'T KNOW IF THE CHILDREN AND I SHOULD BE PACKING UP OUR BELONGINGS OR TRY TO PUT UP A TREE. BELOW IS INFORMATION I SENT TO PRESIDENT OBAMA AS WELL AS EVERY SENATOR AND REPRESENTATIVE I FELT COULD HELP. NEXT IS THE NEWS AGENCIES:
I am begging for President Obama's help! My home went into foreclosure in July. I called Ocwen, my lending agency, who told me I could apply for a loan modification. They told me that they would continue with the foreclosure process but as long as they were working on my modification my home would not go into foreclosure. Monday night, a person came to my door and offered me money for my home if I would move out. I told him I was working with Ocwen on a loan modification. The next day I called Ocwen and they told me that my gov loan modification had been denied. I asked why it had been denied and they told me that they had sent out paperwork on Nov 10th requesting more information from me. Apparently it also stated that if I did not respond within 30 days they would foreclose on my home. I did NOT receive any requests from Ocwen. I certainly would have responded to the request had I received the paperwork. I have called every federal, state and local government agency for help. Because I apparently no longer own my home, no one can help me. I know President Obama did not set out to pass these laws for federal loan modifications for this to happen. After calling the Oregon Attorney General's office and Oregon Representative, Peter DeFazio's office, apparently this is a common practice for banks to tell their customers that they had sent out pertinent information needing response but actually not sending out the information. I met with an attorney today who told me there was nothing I could do and Iwould have to move out of my home by January 8th. I have not received any paperwork from my lender telling me my home had been sold and I would have to move. My children and I left an extremely abusive home and extreme domestic violence. My children have suffered from the actions of their father even greater after we left. The hope agency tells me that I definitely qualify for a government home loan modification but because I no longer own my home, no one can help me. Along with an extremely contentious divorce, I have an extremely sick child who is 20 years old. Sara has spent almost 20 days in a hospital since mid July. On September 25th, she had a major surgery; her whole large intestines and rectum were removed. She came out of surgery with a colostomy bag which she had to deal with not knowing if it would be permanent. The end of October Sara was back in the hospital with kidney and liver failure. The last week of November, Sara went back in to surgery were they were able to build a pouch with her small intestines and they were able to remove her colostomy bag. I just can't tell my children that we lost our home and they will need to give up their pets because we will now need to rent a home. Our pets are like family members and I'm not sure any of us can face giving them up. I do not know who can help me. I have truly done everything I can think of to get some help and no one can help. I pray that president Obama will have an answer for me that will allow my children and me to stay in our home. Although my home lost a great deal of value, there remains a great deal of equity in my home because I put approx $80,000 down on my home. I can only feel that Ocwen sees value in my home, therefore, foreclosing on my home rather than a modification will best suit them. I've tried to get a hold of the legal department at Ocwen or I've asked to speak with someone that can help me and I am either put on hold for a long time and then suddenly they disconnect me or I am transferred to some one's voice mail but the won't return my calls. I'm at a loss for any more direction. How can children suffer so much for leaving an abusive home? What is wrong with our society? I know President Obama understands and he is trying to make a difference and I am extremely grateful for all he's done! My children have watched their mom's tears for too long as she works to get help! Please respond to my plea for help. MESSAGE TO PRES OBAMA ON IN TWO PARTS December 17, 2009
I sent a two part message regarding the foreclosure of my loan by Ocwen. It appears that banks and lending institutions are better off doing a loan modification with those homes that are considered "up side down". For those loans such as mine where I put a large down payment on my home and even with the loss in equity that most of us have experienced, my home has equity. It is more beneficial for lending institutions to NOT modify those loans were there is equity in the home. I am sending my information and asking Anderson Cooper with CNN if this is something worthy of investigating, maybe the "Keeping Them Honest" segment would work. I believe this is an issue larger than we realize. If most people that have lost their homes in the way I lost mine leave with tears in their eyes and nothing is said, we have a HUGE problem. MESSAGE TO PRES OBAMA ON December 17, 2009
My home was put up for auction and sold back to the lending institution, Ocwen, while I was working with them on a government loan modification. Ocwen tells me they sent me paperwork requesting additional information for the loan modification on November 10th. They did not send that request. I did NOT receive any requests from them. The original loan modification request to Ocwen was the end of July. They foreclose on my home in approx four months. My abusive ex-husband had a loan with Ocwen as well. He has not made a payment on the home for since Dec 2008. He is not applying for a loan modification. He already moved out of the home and has no intention to keep the home. They continually extend the sale date on the home and the home still has not been sold. Technically he has all rights to that house and could get it back by making up the past due payments. Why was I treated so differently? Could it be because I actually have equity in my home and it is in their best interest to foreclose? Is this something the news agencies should check in to? Or who ever regulates the lending industry? MESSAGE TO PRES OBAMA ON December 17, 2009
I've sent you many messages regarding my issue with my home. I've sent information to CNN, AP, Oprah, and any other agency I can think of. I sent a request to President Obama's scheduler requesting a meeting with him.
