Ashton Kutcher's Room 401 Coming to MTV

Source:  MTV Networks
Beware!! MTV turns Tuesdays into a night of chills and thrills with the premiere of new series Room 401, as well as an extended season of the popular stomach-turning series Scarred -- all beginning July 17 at 10pm ET/PT. Also premiering that night is the one- hour special, Scarred: The Worst of the Worst.

Viewers are invited to enter the mind-blowing journey through the weird, absurd and shocking world of illusion in the new series, Room 401. The show sweeps unaware victims into the center of mini horror movies that play out live in front of their eyes. From the reanimation of the dead, to chain-saw mishaps, to sinister sushi experiences, each episode will contain four "scares" sure to tingle the spine. Featuring some of the most talented, up- and-coming illusionists, Room 401 will make viewers scream, jump and even laugh... uncomfortably. In this age of CGI and edit room after effects, Room 401 unfolds live. We don't manipulate the film... we manipulate the mind.

Scarred, the half-hour series exploring the stories behind the sickest clips on the web, continues its run in a new 10:30pm ET/PT timeslot offering more gross-out viral exploits. Every day, young people are posting and sharing the hardcore footage of their most severe mishaps and accidents on the web making them some of the most popular and talked about viral videos. Now viewers get to hear from the people that experienced the pain and agony firsthand. Hosted by Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix, Scarred provides a cautionary view of this growing and hugely popular trend. And at 11:00pm ET/PT, fans can catch a special one-hour edition, Scarred: The Worst of The Worst for the grossest clips from the first 10 episodes. Host Jacoby counts down what viewers voted on as the nastiest spills -- broken arms, compound fractures, blood loss, this special has got it all.

Room 401 is created and executive produced by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg for Katalyst Films and Billy Rainey and Lois Curren for MTV.
