According to
Spoiler TV, a new casting call is making the rounds and its for the part of Kato in Michel Gondry's upcoming
The Green Hornet. The film is set to star Seth Rogen and was written by Rogen with his
Superbad writing partner Evan Goldberg. Stephen Chow was originally supposed to direct the film, but when he dropped out, Rogen stated that the indelible action director would still be playing Kato. Well, that no longer seems to be the case.
Here is the casting call for the part:
[KATO] ALL ASIAN ETHNICITIES, Male, 20's - early 40's. Brit Reid's manservant/chauffeur by day and Green Hornet's martial arts-skilled sidekick by night sptv050769. Actor doesn't have to have Martial Arts experience.
At this time, there is no statement as to way Chow has backed completely away from the project. We will have more on this news as it breaks.
The Green Hornet was to open on July 9th of 2010, but this urgent need to replace a key character may push its release date further into the future.

For the role of the Green Hornet, that does not fit Seth Rogan, it more of a role for actors like Nicholas Cage, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Ray Stevenson, Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, Aaron Eckhart and Matt Dillon. Seth Rogan just don't fit that rich person who is also a super hero. Those are actors that can do that, thare other big name that don't fit this role like Tom Hanks, John Cusack and Kevkin Spacy just to name a few.
That's quite an age difference. It sounds like they're desperate to get started.
If it turns out to be good, I'll be surprised, but at this point I'm seeing a bomb.
