It seems that George Lucas is continuing his legendary saga with a new live-action small-screen series.
MTV Movies Blog caught up with actress Rose Byrne, while promoting her upcoming film
Knowing, and she revealed that casting is under way for a new
Star Wars live-action TV series.
"A lot of my friends have been auditioning for it," Byrne revealed. Word on the series first started in 2005 when Lucas revealed the desire for a live-action TV show, and in 2007, Lucas revealed he had started writing scripts for the series. The series is said to be set in the time period between
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and will focus on minor characters from the film saga and will deal with the Rebel Alliance as they build up their strength against the Empire.
LucasFilms has not confirmed the news as of yet, but we'll certainly keep you posted on any and all news coming forth regarding this new TV series.

at least it's not a show about luke growing up as a whiny youth in the years before his fateful meeting with r2d2 and c3po. that would be much worse.

Thank you for completely betraying us, the loyal fans, who threw our money at you and got you to the level of monetary gain that you are at today.
