First Official Iron Man 2 Photo!
May 1st, 2009
The first official photo from Iron Man 2 has hit - and in it we see Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark sitting in his workshop, surrounded by a collection of Iron Man suits. The photo comes to us courtesy of USA Today, and is distinctly reminiscent of images of Stark at work in the comics.
Director Jon Favreau discussed one of the elements that Iron Man 2 will heavily play with, namely the fact that as of the end of the original Iron Man, Tony Stark has no secret identity. "How many superheroes are open about their true identities?" he asks. "We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences - in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore."
Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Favreau, will continue the tale of Tony Stark and his armored alter-ego as he continues his transformation from billionaire industrialist to super-hero. Robert Downey, Jr. will star as Tony Stark, with Paltrow returning in the role of his assistant Pepper Potts. Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson also star. Iron Man 2 blasts into theatres May 7, 2010.

1) They'll grapple with it in a creative and unique way, unlike anything we've ever seen before.
2) They'll write it off as "I WAS Iron Man, now it's a bodyguard," or "The suit is a military application."
BTW, I was having lunch in Sherman Oaks last week (for those of you not local, Los Angeles) and spotted Sam Rockwell walking by the restaurant I was in. It was a Sunday so probably a day off from filming. Really wanted to approach and say how much I was looking forward to the movie, but didn't want to seem like a dork. Great to see him though.
