Stephen Chow has bowed out of Sony's
The Green Hornet, leaving the Columbia Pictures project to search for a new Kato, the sidekick of playboy-turned-vigilante Brit Reid, which is played by Seth Rogen.
According to
Variety, sources said Chow left on amicable terms and had several other projects he wanted to pursue that didn't fit with "Hornet's" production schedule.
Michel Gondry is directing the film.
Chow had initially signed on to direct the film as well, but then opted just to play Kato, the role Bruce Lee took in the original 1960s TV show.
Character is Reid's chauffeur by day and Green Hornet's martial arts-skilled sidekick by night.
Production begins in September, with a release date set on July 9, 2010.

Just watched Invisible Target
For the role of the Green Hornet, that does not fit Seth Rogan, it more of a role for actors like Nicholas Cage, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Ray Stevenson, Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, Aaron Eckhart and Matt Dillon. Seth Rogan just don't fit that rich person who is also a super hero. Those are actors that can do that, thare are also big name that don't fit this role like Tom Hanks, John Cusack and Kevkin Spacy just to name a few.
BTW that Nightmare on elm st Script to the remake was an epic definition of failure.
But thanks for the at least i now know what to expect, the end of JEH's career
I agree with the people that say Tony Jaa...
Problem is he is too busy atm, filming, chreographing, directing and starring and of course writing Ong Bak 3.
&
Donnie Yen is too busy doing IP Man 2 & 3 back to back
Now i'd rather see those 3 films than The Green Hornet
Any one wanna read the SCRIPT, let me know because i got it :)
