Ghost Rider Sequel Is on Its Way!

Source:  Bloody-Disgusting.com
Ghost Rider SequelSuperhero films are hot right now, and with his appearances in both Ghost Rider and Kick-Ass, it's well known that Nic Cage likes superhero films, so it should come as no surprise that Cage has signed on to make a sequel to Ghost Rider. The news comes our way via Bloody Disgusting that Columbia is hunting for writers for the sequel and that Cage is attached to return.

The ending of the original Ghost Rider has Cage's Johnny Blaze riding away from his one true love to continue using his "curse" to fight off the minions of Mephisto and his son Blackheart, so the door was always open for a sequel. With the success of superhero movies during Summer 2008, it only seems reasonable for Columbia to try to tap in to that.

Ghost Rider tells the story of Johnny Blaze, a stunt rider who sold his soul to the devil to try to save the life of his father. Bonded to a demonic "ghost rider", Blaze is forced to become the devil's bounty hunter. In the original film, Ghost Rider takes on Blackheart, the son of the devil, in his quest for ultimate power.

At this time, other than Nic Cage, it is unknown who would star in Ghost Rider 2, or who will direct.

Maybe the directors should relate the plot a real event, like (Hell taking over Earth), in the holy bible. Something like the End of Days. Satan comes to find someone to bear with, and Ghost Rider have to stop him. I don't know, I'm just bringing up ideas.

Also the movie have to have a dark tone.

There needs to be a reboot. The first one sucked anyway. The reboot shouldn't show his origin, but maybe flashbacks. It should start in a Church where Johnny Blaze is whipping himself for his sins. The movie needs to be scary to. The skelton should have burned flesh on it. Very graphic. I think that would be cool. And the whip he has should have razor sharp spikes, and it should be blood stained. That's what would make it scary.

What if Brett Ratner directs Ghost Rider 2, Kirk?

The first Ghost Rider movie was crap. Nicolas Cage did a horrible job as Ghost Rider. Not looking forward to the new one.

In regards to Brett Ratner comments left here, I say if he touches God of War, I'll look the other way and ignore it completely. X-Men 3 was the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen! The only thing that could happen worse than Brett Ratner to any movie would be Uwe Boll! Ghost Rider 2 ppl! It's gonna be awesome!

I know almost everyone hated the first, but I liked it, and I am glad to hear a sequel. Better have Eva Mendes!

Nicolas Cage has been talking about wanting to do a Ghostrider2 for a while...glad its being realized. The sequel should redress its script flaws for the better.

I did'nt like the first Ghost Rider movie. I was hoping for something similar to what Garth Ennis did with Cain on the mini series. Maybe this time.

Reading all the comments and what I got so far, everyone seems to hate the Ghost Rider movie, I personally thought it was better than the DareDevil movie. I think it was dialogue, script that sunk these comic treasures. They are both bad ass, but don't judge sequels simply based on the past. For all we know, Ghost Rider 2 could blow our socks off. Why is it so hard to be optimistic? You can be realistic and optimistic at the same time ya know. You hope somebody takes GR and DD and makes them completely gritty and bad ass, which is their tone from the comics. But like everything adapted, they don't turn out all the way you remember. I mean, even though Spiderman films are good, they changed a lot in those, like Green Goblin not being an actual green fucking goblin lol, messing up Venom's size and story etc. It's just the way they do things in Hollywood (I don't know why but they do it). I just don't understand really, there are millions of writers out there with awesome ideas to their childhood heroes etc and they can't get a good script? If they are struggling, get somebody who is famous to write it for fuck sake, grab "mr. can do it all" Peter Jackson and Stuart Beattie and have them poop out a good script. I'm sure they are busy doing other shit, but come on, if you love movies as much as we do, I'd clear my schedule to give a few heroes justice. If my name was huge and I was as talented as either of these two people, I would be on this like white on rice lol. And there are people out there just as talented who need to get off her nuts and send them their scripts or something.

Btw what is with the Brett Ratner hating? He made 2 great movies, Rush Hour 1 and 2 and if you really think about the plot, the movie isn't original at all and kinda dumb but they are funny and entertaining which makes you forget that stuff. You're not thinking of "oh Brett sucks dick" as you're watching them. Yes the 3rd was kinda like an "add-on" movie that didn't need to be even made. That was probably the worst I've seen in regards to Brett. X-Men 3 was pretty good actually. Who gives a fuck about Cyclops anyway? Do you? No. We like Wolverine, Gambit, Storm and then the villians. That's about it lol. Don't kid yourselves. You thought the part when Magneto moves the bridge ACROSS to the island was shitty? I was like 'holy fucking shit' when I saw that. Btw, did you also notice Wolverine was meaner and more violent in the 3rd? There was nothing noticeably wrong about the 3rd movie. Yeah people died, no shit! You think mutants with life threatening abilities wouldn't end up killing each other on purpose or by accident? It's common sense, even for something that's made up. I want to say "dur" to you people for being stupid that they killed off the people you didn't even care about. No one complained when Maximus died in Gladiator and that movie is bad ass from beginning to end. No one said "Ridley Scott sucks" because of it. Get over yourselves. They have talent. You don't so stop bitching about people who have more skill and who aren't even doing that bad of a job to begin with. Seriously, wtf guys. I know Hollywood fucks us but don't blame the directors when they are getting the shaft from the execs. They have to answer to somebody too and make them happy since they run the show. If they want more sales they will drop it to pg-13. They make money in the theaters but then lose some money on dvds cause you all download them so don't even give me that shit. Be open minded please. Thank you.

what producer and studio would even consider givin god of war to rattner?ghost rider is already fucked up, but they still havent done god of war yet.but chances are they will rape that, too.in my opinoin, nobody on this earth should do god of war other than peter jackson. a good example as to what might happen to the god of war movie is what happened to avp2:mix shitty filmmakers with iconic figures.they should just leave god of war alone for now

Brett Ratner, to put it politely, is one of the worst directors in Hollywood, and killed the main X-Men franchise. You just don't kill off Scott like that. It's just wrong. Anyways, his only good movies are Rush Hour 1 & 2, and if he directs God of War, then it has the potential to be like Battlefield Earth, a fantasy/action/adventure flick with noooooooooooooooo sense of direction. Brett Ratner is the worst possible thing that could happen to God of War. You just don't match up a comedy director with a serious epic like this. And after he does direct a first God of War, he may kill the franchise like X-Men, and no one will want to have anything to do with it, and chances are, we won't see a God of War movie until after I'm long gone. Anyways, getting back to the core of the article, God of War with Brett Ratner is as bad an idea as Ghost Rider 2 with Nic Cage & Eva Mendes.
