Superhero films are hot right now, and with his appearances in both
Ghost Rider and
Kick-Ass, it's well known that Nic Cage likes superhero films, so it should come as no surprise that Cage has signed on to make a sequel to
Ghost Rider. The news comes our way via
Bloody Disgusting that Columbia is hunting for writers for the sequel and that Cage is attached to return.
The ending of the original
Ghost Rider has Cage's Johnny Blaze riding away from his one true love to continue using his "curse" to fight off the minions of Mephisto and his son Blackheart, so the door was always open for a sequel. With the success of superhero movies during Summer 2008, it only seems reasonable for Columbia to try to tap in to that.
Ghost Rider tells the story of Johnny Blaze, a stunt rider who sold his soul to the devil to try to save the life of his father. Bonded to a demonic "ghost rider", Blaze is forced to become the devil's bounty hunter. In the original film, Ghost Rider takes on Blackheart, the son of the devil, in his quest for ultimate power.
At this time, other than Nic Cage, it is unknown who would star in
Ghost Rider 2, or who will direct.

Also the movie have to have a dark tone.
Btw what is with the Brett Ratner hating? He made 2 great movies, Rush Hour 1 and 2 and if you really think about the plot, the movie isn't original at all and kinda dumb but they are funny and entertaining which makes you forget that stuff. You're not thinking of "oh Brett sucks dick" as you're watching them. Yes the 3rd was kinda like an "add-on" movie that didn't need to be even made. That was probably the worst I've seen in regards to Brett. X-Men 3 was pretty good actually. Who gives a fuck about Cyclops anyway? Do you? No. We like Wolverine, Gambit, Storm and then the villians. That's about it lol. Don't kid yourselves. You thought the part when Magneto moves the bridge ACROSS to the island was shitty? I was like 'holy fucking shit' when I saw that. Btw, did you also notice Wolverine was meaner and more violent in the 3rd? There was nothing noticeably wrong about the 3rd movie. Yeah people died, no shit! You think mutants with life threatening abilities wouldn't end up killing each other on purpose or by accident? It's common sense, even for something that's made up. I want to say "dur" to you people for being stupid that they killed off the people you didn't even care about. No one complained when Maximus died in Gladiator and that movie is bad ass from beginning to end. No one said "Ridley Scott sucks" because of it. Get over yourselves. They have talent. You don't so stop bitching about people who have more skill and who aren't even doing that bad of a job to begin with. Seriously, wtf guys. I know Hollywood fucks us but don't blame the directors when they are getting the shaft from the execs. They have to answer to somebody too and make them happy since they run the show. If they want more sales they will drop it to pg-13. They make money in the theaters but then lose some money on dvds cause you all download them so don't even give me that shit. Be open minded please. Thank you.
Great idea Hollywood another way to blow money on shit in these hard economic times!!!
