IFC Producing Ten New Episodes of Trapped in the Closet

Source:  Variety
IFC has purchased the rights to R. Kelly's music video sensation Trapped in the Closet. According to Variety, the cable network will also be collaborating with Kelly to produce ten all new episodes of the continuing soap opera.

The original twelve episodes will air on the network as a movie, after which, the entire twenty-two episode run will be streamed on IFC's website. The series of to-be-continued video shorts revolved around a man named Sylvester and his love life tribulations. Trapped in the Closet even created its own genre called Hip-Hopera.

Kelly says, "I always thought of Trapped as an independent film." There is no word on when the ten new episodes would be produced. Expect shooting to begin soon.
