Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter Join Alice in Wonderland

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter have climbed aboard Alice in Wonderland, director Tim Burton's remake of the Lewis Carroll classic for Disney.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie stars Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and will use a combination of live action and performance-capture technology.

Hathaway is playing the White Queen, a benevolent monarch who is deposed and banished by her sister, the Red Queen (Carter), who has an affinity for crying out, "Off with their heads!" The White Queen needs Alice to slay a creature known as the Bandersnatch.

Alice in Wonderland is currently in pre-production and slated for a March 5, 2010 release.

Excuse me PUNISHER, but Helena Bonham Carter is HOTT. Enough said, and she's a great actress, this is what I was afraid of. Just because she's dating the Director, and had his child, everyone automatically assumes that THAT'S how she gets into Tim Burton's movies and not because she's a great actress.

What a surprise Helena Carter is in another Tim Burton film. You'd think she's fucking him. Oh wait, she is! I guess that explains how she still gets work, certainly isnt her fugly face getting her roles. Notice she always plays a witch (Harry Potter) or a fucking nasty hooker (Fight Club). She gets all the sloppy seconds.

No way!!!!! This movie gets better and better as I hear the news!!!!! Anne Hathaway has been one of my favorite actresses ever since I saw her in "The Princess Diaries," and I even went and saw the second in theaters. Yea, I liked them. Want to make something of it?! PLUS! Helena Bonham Carter returning again to work with Depp?!?!?!?!?! That's even BETTER! I mean, they both did awesome in "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," and they also did spectacularly incredible in Tim Burton's adaptation of the Stage Musical, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (Which happens to be all time favorite movie ever.). So I guess what I'm trying to say here with this big old comment, is "I APPROVE ONE HUNDRED FREAKING PERCENT!!!!!"

How did Tim Burton's wife make it into another of his movies? I suspect she's using sex for leverage...

Regardless, Burton's Alice in Wonderland will be great!

While I have no doubt that both Hathaway and Bonham Carter are cast their roles make no sense. The Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts are two different characters, the latter of which actually does cry out "Off with their heads!!" Plus both the White Queen and the Red Queen are characters in "Through the Looking Glass", the second book. Now while I do not know the script and it seems this will be another compilation of both stories, seeing as how Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are cast(also characters in the second only), I think we need a more accurate description of what character Bonam Carter is playing. According to this description she is both the Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen which makes no sense, or maybe it does. It's Tim Burton after all and who doesn't play two roles sometimes?

Since when is Helena Bonham Carter being cast as the Red Queen news? This has been confirmed for at least a week or so. I think some of you guys in here need to give Burton a break on his casting calls. Reguardless of how many times we see Burton, Depp, and Carter collaborate, those three have a great chemistry together and pull each film off quite well. If it works, whats there to bitch about?
