Will Arnett is set to star in the comedy,
Semi-Pro for New Line Cinema.
The film is about the last days of the American Basketball Association; New Line vice president Kent Alterman will make his directorial debut. Arnett joins Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson and Andre Benjamin in a project written by Scot Armstrong. According to
Variety, Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, the owner-player-coach of the fictional Flint, Michigan, Tropics; Arnett plays team announcer Lou Redwood.
Arnett and Ferrell also co-star in the comedy
Blades of Glory which will be released later this year.
Semi-Pro hits theaters in 2008.
