Tom Arnold will be joining Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac in the period drama P.D.R. for Lionsgate.

The film is based on the true story of Jim Ellis (Howard), who in the 1970s started a black swim team in one of the roughest neighborhoods in Philadelphia. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Arnold will play the racist swim coach of the rival team.

Filming is already underway in Louisiana; a December release is scheduled for P.D.R.
