Martial arts legend Jackie Chan will be teaming up with one of Hong Kong's biggest stars for a new remake. According to
Associated Press, Jackie Chan and Andy Lau will star in
Shaolin, a remake of the 1982 classic
The Shaolin Temple.
Nicholas Tse and Fan Bingbing will also star in the film, which was said to feature 1,000 real fighting monks. Benny Chan will direct while Cory Yuen will serve as the action coordinator.
The original 1982 film starred Jet Li in his film debut, and revolved around a boy who is taken in by Shaolin monks and seeks vengeance for the death of his father. The remake was said to go before cameras later this year for a 2010 release.
