Paul Giamatti and Chris Evans have agreed to come aboard The Nanny Diaries.

The film is based on the Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin's popular satirical tome about a working-class woman from New Jersey who becomes a nanny to a wealthy Manhattan family. Scarlett Johansson is already attached as the lead; Donna Murphy and Laura Linny will also appear.

According to Variety, Giamatti will play Mr. X, the brood's imposing patriarch; Evans is set to be the Park Avenue hunk who steals Scarlett's heart.

The Nanny Diaries will begin production in New York this month; The Weinstein Company will distribute the film. No release date has been set.
