Dwayne Johnson Sizing Up for Commando Remake?

Source:  Cinefools
Dwayne Johnson up for Commando Remake?Cinefools heard through the grape vine that the Commando remake that was rumoured last week here is in fact happening. And even though it's in early development, rumors are circulating that Dwayne Johnson is being considered to fill Arnold Schwarzenegger's shoes. Well, he might just be bad-ass enough!

But wait, who should take the daughter's role? The original being one that belonged to a young Alyssa Milano?

It's funny reading over everyone's comments. If the studio want to make it, they will. As for the Rock, who else is there to play the role? As stupid an idea the whole thing is, i'll pay to watch it.

NO "COMMANDO" REMAKE!!!...But can we have The Rock in a cool action movie that's worthy of him?! Break loose from Disney for Christ's sake!!! There's still so much potential for his career outside of things like "Race To Witch Mountain"!!

i'm really looking forward to this, it could either be really surprisingly good or really terrible. i wonder if there gonna do what t4 did an do alot of homages to the original or there gonna make a new story an jus call him john matrix

Who cares if there ripping on it Oliver.

I think that the studio just needs to come up with something original and stop remaking everything.

he doesn't have the chops to pull it off. his action rolls come off as over-the-top. don't know what it is, but i would have a hard time buying into the Rock for this role.

Firts off. The Rock is having a better Acting carear then Hulk ever did. He made three movies that went to the big screen as a the main star, the first one was good, No Holds Bard, second was Subarban Commando, which was ok, and the thrid was that Nanny movie, which bombed. Thats why all the rest was direct to video. Every movie the Rock has done has did either well, or very well concidering the money to make it. Now just becouse it is a re-make, dosn't mean same story to a T. Instead of a duaghter, he could have a son, and instead of south american conflict, could be a south asian issue. Look at other re=makes as a guide. But The Rock would be great for it, if the is done right.

It makes perfect sense considering Arnold passed Dwayne the 'muscl-bound action hero" torch with his cameo in "The Rundown." The acting will probably be on par with Arnold's acting ability at the start of his film career.

i don't know who would be a good fit for milano's character i think it is more important who they cast as the villians. a good villian would make this a decent villian

If this studio insists on making a Commando remake, then I suppose all we can do is try to make the best of it. So yeah, I can see this role fitted for Dwayne Johnson. As for Milano's character, I think Jadagrace Berry is most appropriate.

arnold only took roles where he really didnt have to talk much and got to fire big guns. Listen i loved his movies as a kid but seriously you thought he was a good actor. walking tall for the rock was a decent movie for todays day and age. now adays arnold movies would suck at the box office because fans today want everything to be epic, not just enjoyable

Well oliver are they only casting the rock cause he has muscles at least arnold had muscles and could act very well!

I'm sorry i can't stand people ripping every acting choice a studio makes. Intstead of just ripping who they are picking, why don't you say who u think would do a better job. The Rock by no means is a super actor but then again was arnold really that good. I loved his movies, but that was a different time acting for action flicks was never expected to be any good.

yeah i've lost all faith or interest in the rock.
this is just a bad idea all around, one way or the other this is going to be a monumental waste of money and time. its not like they're looking at huge box office profits on this, so i dont understand why they would even bother with this project.

Please god let this be some horrible joke.....wrestlers in movies doesn't work stone cold(The Condemned) john cena(The Marine, 12 rounds) only very rarely does it work hulk hogan (rocky 3) and the late andre the giant (The Princess Bride)!

I agree, he is completely wrong for this role. If they are not careful they will make a mockery of the film.

The Rock is the perfect choice to fill the role. "Right?"...."WONG!" lol
And who gives a toss about who the plays the daughter? This movie is gonna be about one man killing an entire army with big fucking guns. That's all that is gonna matter.

June 10th, 2009 3:53am
I think they should cast Madison Pettis as his daughter, cause they did a triffic jod together in the Game Plan....

June 10th, 2009 1:25am
Hmmm. Hard to cast a daughter. Maybe my old friend, Alyssa Lende Kane. Born raised in Hawaii, and even sort of looks like a relative of the rock. Lol. IDK.

As for the rock being cast, I can't think of someone better, but I didn't like this flick to much, and IDK bout this flick. I'll wait and see.
