Could Scott Porter Be Making a Run for The Flash?

Source:  ThinkMcFlyThink
Scott PorterHot off the news that Dan Mazeau had been contracted to write a screenplay for The Flash, we're now getting our first casting rumors for the film. According to ThinkMcFlyThink, Warner Brothers is looking at Scott Porter as one of the the top two contenders for the role of the Scarlet Speedster.

Porter, best known for his role on Friday Night Lights, was formerly considered the top contender for the role of Superman in Justice League: Mortal, the now-dead adaptation of DC's greatest superhero team from director George Miller.

According to the rumor, the studio has been keeping an eye on Porter for a role in one of their superhero films ever since Justice League: Mortal fell through.

The Flash is my all time favorite superhero nd everybody always sees him as this lil skinny kid who can run fast. tru he's young but he was never a wimp nd he always had a gud story

Well that's if Goyer can find a way to create a solo adaptation, don't forget he has been trying for ages long before they even considered making a Wolvering Origins Film, heck probably even before they even considered optioning a live action X-men film.

I just have this scene in my head of Flash running around a load of bad guys and slapping or hitting them with their own hands and Flash is running around them going
"Why you hitting yourself, huh? Why you hitting yourself?"

And i can only see someone like Ryan Reynolds getting away with something like that as a superhero.

Ok i've never read any of Captain Marvel, so i can't really can't speak an opinion on him.
Although Aqua-Man is lame, to the eyes of many comic fans, i reckon if he was reinvented he could be pretty awesome, think Aquaman never really got reinvented, even though it was a success during the golden age of comics.
Now some will say that Aquaman never got reinvented because he was lame. But if he was reinvented now, it could be pretty good considering how comic writers have become kind of more creative in recreation and intertwining and weaving stories together.

Like the reboot version i did to Aquaman, his Posideon.

But that's my opinion, lol i reckon Atom Ant is the worst hero, how you can take a superhero with a name like that serious is beyond me.

J.A, I agree, Reynolds would make a perfect Flash, but if they're not considering him right now, then he probably won't get the role, especially now that he's Deadpool and there will most likely be a solo movie with him starring...BUT, it would be cool if he could do both

If Porter got the part, I won't be turned away, though.

see chad within comics, i don't think either of those characters r necessarily bad characters, it just that out side of comics Captain Marvel isn't even know really, and Aquaman is considered a joke.

I thought Captain Marvel and Aquaman were considered the worst? The Flash is way more popular than those two combined lol

Ottley, i am all down for ur Martian Manhunter movie, i just think the general public will think it is too much like Superman, unless most of the movie takes place on mars and is bout how he cames to earth, that could work for me.

ok so idk if Chad vital is gay or not, but how in anyway did anything he say make u think "gee i bet he just wants to be butt buddies with a fictional superhero"? u sound like a moron. And killerman, in wut way is flash the worst superhero ever? have u anything to back that up or r u just gunna call me gay and say that my profile isn't up to par which is ur normal response?

anyway Porter is a fine actor and has the build to play a superhero, plus he is an unknown which makes him cheap so money can then go towards other areas where they will need it, like effects and a prolly well known supporting castin to help this movie get the attention it deserves.

I haven't even read any of the comments but I already know people are talking mad shit haha you guys are so pathetic. It's The Flash for crying out loud. He is kinda a lame superhero, cooler than some other lesser knowns mind you, but still kinda lame. Let me guess, you guys are saying that this guy is a terrible casting idea and throwing out your suggestions that will never happen? Am I right lol? This guy looks fine for the role. The pic they used of him isn't that great but if you look at other pics he looks like a college guy. And if they want to do a movie with possible sequels, this guy's perfect for that. He's cheap right now since he's unknown. Tobey Maguire was a bad choice for Spiderman in everyone's eyes when that movie came out. Just fucking relax people good lord.

Thanks for the update, i never knew he had the part

I'd like to see a Martian Manhunter film, it would be very interesting.

When i think of Flash, i just think of a skinny Ryan Reynolds, i don't know why maybe because his films have contained the cocky sarcastic attitude that emements Flash a lot.

Atom Ant was the worst one btw guys.

I think an Aquaman film could be interesting, despite how lame the comic is, the film could be pretty awesome, but i'm speaking from a reinvented story concept i created for it, which was in my own terms, pretty fucking radical, i recreated Aquaman as Posideon.
But i doubt it will ever be done because water SFX costs a lot.

It's tough to say. In my opinion, and don't go up in arms just because you disagree with my opinion (yes I'm talking to you Comrade Henson + Agent VIS), but Martian Manhunter would make for a cool movie. He's more unrealistic compared to other DC Superheroes who are more grounded, but he's cool looking and has some great features to his background.

As for this guy, I see him more as Aquaman rather than the Flash. He looks too tough to be the Flash, who is depicted mostly as skinny, scrawny, and a rebellious/sarcastic teen.

Well nothing is set in stone so we'll just have to wait and see. Then we can really start trashing the choices of the movie studios.
