Fox Is Doing a Family Guy Spin-off

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
The Fox Network and 20th Century Fox TV has just announced that they are developing a spin-off of the animated hit show Family Guy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be based on Peter Griffin's bathtub-accident-prone neighbor Cleveland Brown.

The project is tentatively being titled Cleveland and is being written by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. Mike Henry, who produces and writes for Family Guy, also voices Cleveland, the character who plays off black stereotypes and is the most levelheaded among Griffin's trio of friends.

In addition to Cleveland, The Fox Network and 20th Century TV are also developing a spin-off of the drama series Prison Break, which will be set at a female prison.

Reidmaster, family guy is crap compared to south park. All family guy relies on is flashback sequences that interupt the show every five minutes. I love family guy, but it's crap up against sp

Yup they should of went with Quagmire. Though I have faith in Seth MacFarlane, I'm sure he can turn this into something good. He wouldn't of thought of this spin off if he thought it would sink to the bottom. I guess it's all gonna depended on the views. Cleveland has alwas been the quiete type, maybe it's time he lashes out a bit.

Yeah, Family Guy's comedy thrives off its secondary characters. To be honest, If I have a whole show of Cleveland then every time I watch Family Guy I probably won't find him funny anymore.

It's just like Herbert. The character was hilarious to start out with, but now they overplay him so much that he's become annoying.

I love Cleveland but this idea is what the Spaniards call "El Terrible".

i dont know if this will go very far. i mean if its just about cleveland. the whole thing with family guy is that it was everybody who made the series funny. but if it comes out i will either watch it or dvr it.

i don't want to come over all politically correct but this may well be the most racist idea for a tv show i have ever read about.
however, black guy + spin-off = genius. what you talkin' 'bout willis, stay thehell away from that bike store.
i am a scientist, i read about about this solely for research into black-guy-based spin-offs.
