Sony Pictures has nabbed a pitch from screenwriter Sheldon Turner who will adapt
inFAMOUS, the Sucker Punch Prods. video game into a feature film.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is working out a deal for rights to the game, which was published by sister company Sony Computer Entertainment.
Launched in May,
inFAMOUS centers on bike messenger Cole MacGrath, who survives an explosion that destroys entire blocks of Empire City only to find he has new electricity-derived super powers. The action game, designed for Sony's PlayStation 3 console, allows the player to use his powers for good or evil, as MacGrath's karma affects how the devastated city's people and infrastructure deal with him.
A prequel comic book and soundtrack to the game also have been released.
No production date has been set.

Who's got the best library's not that strong an argument in itself...they've both got some kikckass exclusives of their own, some of which are way over rated.
Natal looks like a sick innovation from MS I'll give you that (assuming it runs well in practice) still, there's also motion based tech being developed for Ps3 so.... (Hey,I'll be objective enough to reckon that from what I've seen natal outweighs the Ps3's own motion )......
the 360 is cheaper but also seemed to get alot of internal errors and shit, i mean i head mine for 2 years and sent it in 3 times, i've had my PS3 for a year and a half and have had no problems. plus the PS3 is also a blu-ray player and say wut u will but they can fit more on a disc, evidence in that Rage the newest game from Id (company behind Doom and Quake) will be 2 or more discs on the 360 but only one on the PS3. 360 has Halo and Gears, but PS3 has Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet, Medal Gear, DCUO. and yeah i named more games for the PS3 but that is cuz i can't think of more for the 360 i'm sure it does have more first party games.
anyway i would still prefer Bioshock, Gears or Halo to be made before inFamous. (hey if u still count Bioshock, that is 3 360 games i want to be made into movies...)
Everyone says it need Bay-stylised action sequences, its needs to be a well built, plot-driven sci-fi action in the style of Danny Boyle's independent work like 28 days later & Sunshine but gritty and dark
I own a 360 as well and in comparisons to the prices ranges, there is a dramatic difference between them, let not forget to stand that we are in a recession and well every penny counts.
Xbox's arsenal of games is actually uncomparable to ps3, why because there is nothing to compare really.
Tekken's gone where, oh wait no sorry that Metal Gear Solid as well...but that's a final fantasy, ain't it?
All the exclusive ps3 games are slowly hitting 360, just a nice example above.
Why because its cheaper to make games for the 360...
If you ask me the best looking game on the PS3 got cancelled and that was Getaway 3.
But you see MS had a marketing strategy, their aim wasn't to dominate the market with a powerful computer with stunning graphics, but to make a AFFORDABLE, POWERFUL computer easily compatible with its other studios.
Also lets not forget they were buying shares in companies as well...and as well now let's not forget MS own the company that provided Sony's best selling game being GTA.
Plus they are bringing a whole new range of features to Live, that motion thing, similar to the Wii...HALO IN VR sounds pretty sick.
Plus soon there will be SKY Digital TV avaliable on Live, where you can invite friends via Live to watch and chat...
Plus Halo:Legacy, anyone.
Really your argument fails Lock Stock
The PS3's price is being reduced because sales suck.
Besides, I'm not talking about the console itself, I'm talking about the games. Mass Effect alone beats any shit on the PS3, and so did Bioshock before it branched out. Add in all the Halo games and Gears of War, and you have yourself some quality stuff. I don't care if the console is sexy, which seems to be your main argument.
But like I said, to each his own.
Look, I don't have a PS3, but I can gather that it's no where near as great as the 360. The PS3 is overpriced and will quickly be replaced whereas the 360 is here to stay for quite some time. The PS3 exclusives feature games like Resistance, inFamous, Uncharted, and Killzone 2, but they haven't gathered the critical acclaim that 360's games have. Mass Effect, Halo series, Gears of War 1 and 2, not to mention Bioshock WAS a 360 exclusive until PS3 needed a pick-me-up because it can't compete with the 360's arsenal of games.
Sony's "sexiness" can't compete with the Microsoft's quality gaming experiences. I've watched part of an Infamous walk through on youtube and the graphics can't compare to the 360's major titles. Just look at a video of gameplay of Mass Effect alone and you'll be floored. According to IGN, and they know their games, PS3's version of Bioshock is less quality than the 360 version.
If I had a PS3, I'd probably like their exclusives and I can't talk shit w/o having played them, but for you to just come on here saying "PS3 by far kicks the shit X360's ass" w/o backing it up in any way is idiotic, and I doubt anything you say can justify that statement. You can LIKE the PS3 better, but as far as quality games go with critical and fan acclaim, the 360 "kicks its ass."
(Ahem, BioShock {couch} Halo...Assassins Creed...)
Give it a more independent visual, than over the top Michael Bay action sequences
