The Devious brilliant leader of Cobra demands complete allegiance from his followers as he works toward his ultimate goal of controlling the world. COBRA COMMANDER hides a deadly secret few others know, just as his mask covers disfiguring damage from a fiery accident.

It sucks! I love Cobra Commander and I'm pissed about who they chose to play the part. Now this stupid looking crap. The hood is the best and they should have left it at that. Disfiguring? WTF!!!! He wasn't deformed that is STUPID!!!!

They should've just gone with the helmet and metallic mask. It was a much cooler, cleaner look. This is so stupid looking it's almost heart breaking.

ok yes, this image is different then the Cobra comander we all know and 'love'.

but the movie obviously wants something new and different.

i guess they did not want to use the hood mask because of the KKK image. for some reason they dont use the steel mask.
CC did wear a sort of battle helmet for a while. something that made him look like a retro storm trooper.

the toy looks like a see through mask. but its just the toy probly because they could not do a full mask.
the pic on the card looks like a steel mask of sorts.

but you know what..
i actuly like this image
lets take a step back a moment.

point one
this image is very scarey and menacing
CC should look evil, and here he does.
i mean the mask has fangs in the mouth!
how cool is that?
point two.
they probly want to distance the movie from the cartoon and comics and have something new.
point three
heth ledger did not look like the joker in the comics and he rocked the part
terance stamp did not look like Zod from the comics and he did a great job.

do i really need to go on?
i dont think so.

i am actuly looking forward to this movie.
im excited about it.

christopher eccelston is Destro.
and hes a good actor and does a great job of creating a great bad guy.

allthough so far hes not in a destro mask.
i forsee an argument similur to when dr doom was not allways in the mask in the Fantastic four movie.

but so far i like the trailers and i cant wait to see it.

come one people the movie isnt even out yet.
wait till its out and then
if, and mark you i said if, its bad complain.
if not just enjoy it.

Good one Jack Ass Ottley! Maybe if you read and understood the comment you would know who, but apparently your too much of douche bag to comprehend it. Don't try to bring me in you and Agent Dildos industry. I'll pass. Not my line of work. I know your a director in the gay porn industry. That's cool. We all have to make a living. You can take the star role and direct. What a treat for you Jack Ass!

Wow you are so not getting the point i was fueling across, there is a difference between serious style comic book film adaptations & then there is campy style comic book film adaptations.
The best given example in the comic book universe of film adaptations is Baman Forever & Batman & Robin.
Notice how the style of the films are on the 2 films compared to that of say Batman & Batman Returns, they had a dark tone and were taken seriously for their times.
Batman Forever & Batman & Robin were just plain out campy and gay, 2-face's style and look, Riddler prancing around in a emerald green suit with cheesy lines, Mr Freeze's campy style and Batgirl being related to Alfred and the god damn cheesy lines.
That is campy

Just like this suit...its gay, and he looks like you can't take him serious due to his design, he looks like Jason X's & Mr Freeze illeigitmate child.

I agree Fallen, the whole character design is a joke

P.S (No Offence though)
I'm confused who is the gay porn film maker, maybe Nathan wants a starring role?

Ya know whats worse than the mask? The latex suit he has on. Haha

My bad comrade. It was all directed towards Agent Dildo. You must have a lot of shit on your wall then. Well at least you can admit your a dumbass. Now your trying to bring J.A. in the mix. Watch out J.A., Agent is an aspiring gay porn filmmaker and actor. And your comparing Batman & Robin to G.I.Joe. Two totally differents movies. I thought you would know that considering your a gay porn fillmmaker.

You're right, I couldn't comprehend my ass from a hole in the wall. Must be why I was wiping the crap stains on my wall instead of the ones on my ass. I need major help. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll try not posting something relating to the actual topic next time and go straight for the ass/wall jokes, even if people like J.A. agree and don't have a problem with it. Again, very sorry

I think they were comparing it to Batman & Robin because the design looks kind of campy.

Campy is were something gets to comic book gayish (best way i can put it)
In which the best example is in general the style of change from Batman (1989) and Batman Returns to the next 2 Batman films which was Forever & Batman and Robin.
They took it too campy taking out the serious element that Batman contains, which means you find it very difficult to take the film as a serious production in your own perspective.

I meant plain, you fucks. That's towards the two butt buddies Agent and Comrade. How do you compare the two? Batman & Robin to G.I. Joe, you know nothing Agent. You probably couldn't comprehend your ass from a hole in the wall.

March 29th, 2009 3:41am
Wow, for a film that looks fucking awesome, this just looks like a lame campy villain, it's like if Jason X and Mr Freeze had one deformed ass baby called Cobra Commander.
But then again i never watched the cartoon series that much as you guys, but i do remember that CC did change from time to time, but this does look awful.
But come on people let's be real here, are we really going to see the film to judge the character concept designs or if their not wearing the right fashion from the previous source material.
Ok to be reasonable yeah, it does fuck you off when something is changed from a source material, but people are going to see this because it looks like an awesome action popcorn flick, not to see if Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes are wearing matching socks and boots.

But i'm just hoping this film doesn't get too campy, like Batman & Robin as Vis stated

I agree with iamalice's assessment of Cobra Commander's look.

I hope this isn't as bad as Batman and Robin, though ha

this might not be the ACTUAL look. a movie toyline always changes the appearance of the ACTUAL appearance.

the batman and robin's toyline for example.

Both of you are plan idiots. He looks like fucken Jason X.

March 27th, 2009 12:11pm
Thanks, Comrade

nathan doesn't get it, and saying that he looks like something out of a horror film should actually be a complement seeing as how he's the big bad

March 27th, 2009 8:51am
Obviously you don't know what your talking about either comrade. To bad his look hasn't changed over the years. And now some guy wants to change his look in which he looks like something out of a horror film.

VIS gets it.

Ugh! That's sad. CC could have been way cooler. Let's hope Destro's look is nice and CG looking. Going by this, he'll wear a lame silver colored pot on his head instead.

March 27th, 2009 3:25am
I agree with the jason x comments. Wow... i am soooo not looking forward to this, especially hearing it was moving more towards a xmen and james bond type of film, then a military film, and i think they are trying to change it too much from the original material to be "creative" and "fresh" but borrowing the characters and well... the characters from the gi joe line. I think the shift of terrorism was probably due to 9/11 although that changes the dynamics of the whole story. all i have to say is good luck...lol

March 26th, 2009 12:05pm
Cobra's look has changed over the years, so saying "that just doesn't look like him" is pointless.

It's a cool design. Filmmakers change the looks of characters to better suit the movie. If this was a more adult-oriented G.I. Joe, then they would have gone with the hood, but with a director like Sommers you know this is gonna be a strict action movie with a lot of "BOOM" and "BANG BANG."
