Another Chessy Action movie, No story just explosions and the odd camera close up of the actor with a cheesy line like, "Now your smoking"... Doubt i'm that interested

i have been excited about this movie since that first video of the gun truck thing was posted but in the first minute of this trailer, my parade got pissed upon. i was about to close the window when i heard "welcome to the jungle", for some reason this rekindled my excitement for the movie and i once again looking forward to it.

LOL!!! I'm still trying to get past Joan Allen (An actress I love!) and Jason Statham in the same film...this alone is the price of admission!!!

Yes I agree W./Joker2010..stop W./the Re-Makes....I mean what is funny about the "ORIGINAL" is that it's set in the year 2000....When the United States has been destroyed by a financial crisis and a military coup, and the United Provinces (a fascist police state), rules America, keeping the people satisfied by feeding a stream of gory gladiatorial entertainment..........So in some strange way the "ORGINIAL" can speak for today's time!?!?!!!

No one can top David Carradine or Sylvester Stallone from the orignial!

Plus director Paul W. S. Anderson doesn't have a very good track record with films that he has directed.. like "Soldier" W./Kurt Russell.."Alien vs. Predator" or "Event Horizon" which were mostly forgettable films!

Ok, either no one commenting here saw the original Death Race 2000 or you're smoking so really far out sh*t! This remake has nothing in common with the cult classic other than a fast cars and bad attitudes. The original Death Race 2000 was about a cross country race in the future, but the main goal wasn't the inevitable elimination of the other racers as much as it was to rack up points for hitting innocent pedestrians on or off road. That was the best friggin' aspect of Death Race 2000! Kids were worth certain number of points, adults, and old people & the handicapped were extra points if you ran them over.... and it was all overtop with gore too.... Take the scene where Machine Gun Joe (played by Sly Stallone) rotates his tires on a poor old mans back and guts out his spine. The movie had a great dark sense of humor, a unique vision of the future, and on top of that what also made it great was that the main character Frankenstein was pretty much a mystery.... in this version we got enough background on the guy to just from the damn trailer to write a biography on him. Could this possibly a good film.... yes. Is it really Death Race 2000, no. So as far as I'm concerned this is just hollywood once again capitalizing on a cult classic name to pull in the old fans and grab all the newbs who've never seen the original. And come on, Jonathan Stathom..... Frankenstein was played by David Carradine.... how much more contrast between actors playing the lead role do you need to realize this is not the same film? And again, hitting people for points, I mean c'mon, how could they take that out!? Sh*t, at least don't call it Death race..... someone else said it looks more like Twisted Metal.... they would have been better off going that route. Just scrap the character names, and the back story and call it something else, but please don't insult us by telling us this is a remake. Anyway I urge any of you to go rent the original, watch it, and then come back with your thoughts cause honestly this trailer makes me sick to my stomach. Stop with the remakes already Hollywood! Hey, why don't we just burn all the old reels and make remakes of every cult classic in existence and change them beyond recognition.... yeah! Friggin' lame man, lame!
