Bryan Singer is looking to make another
X-Men movie with Twentieth Century Fox, according to
The Hollywood Reporter.
Singer made
X-Men and
X2: X-Men United, but passed on the third installment so he could make
X-Men: The Last Stand. South African filmmaker Gavin Hood made another spin-off,
X-Men Origins: Wolverine which was released earlier this year.
"I'm still looking to possibly returning to the 'X-Men' franchise. I've been talking to Fox about it," Singer said at a talk at South Korea's Pusan International Film Festival.
"I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast," he said, referring to the Australian actor who plays Wolverine.
Singer said he enjoyed making science fiction and fantasy movies because they allowed him to discuss serious issues through entertainment. He said the "X-Men" series, which follows a group of mutants with superpowers who struggle to fit in with humans, is about tolerance and social structures.
He said he likes to "trick audiences into thinking they're seeing fireworks, but they're learning about themselves and listening to what I have to say."
"The excitement about working in science fiction and fantasy is - the stories, if they are good, are about the human condition," Singer said.

4: The Lizard, Mysterio, Felicia Hardy
5: Carnage, Chameleon, The Black Cat
6: Morlun, The Vulture (??)
The idea was to have 4 and 5 tie into each other as a two-story plot, while 6 was a stand alone. The end of 4 had the first appearance of Black Cat, hiding in the shadows and watching Spidey swing away as sort of a cliffhanger/precursor.
Yes I know, Morlun is a new character and most people will not really agree with Vulture. But I thought a good idea for 6 would be to have Parker as a teacher at his old high school years later and follow the Morlun story line, where Spidey dies. He comes back of course, after being in a cocoon under the bridge but when he comes back he has new spider-powers.
In my eyes that is how i see SM 4 playing out according to Vanderbilt's treatment, i just hope me and Vanderbilt are on the same page
Which does make logical sense, in terms of writing and of course 2-part.
I read that Vanderbilt's 2 part story draft for spiderman 4 & 5 involved Lizard, Kraven, Carnage & Venom. In which if the villain is the symbiote it all makes real logic sense, in terms of the universe of Spidey and writing a story that spans 2 films.
Lizard story goes as we all know and well, in one transformation the symbiote is freed, that opens the door for venom and carnage but they are left as a cliffhanger for this movie.
Once spidey finds out who lizard is, he cant bring himself to destroy him and tries to help him control his dark evil amphibian inner beast, so Kraven comes to do what Spidey can't (Thus following 'The Hunt' story arc).
A final battle commences but the symbiote is still attracted and determined to attach itself to its original host Peter Parker aka Spiderman, in the finale, the symbiote splits in 2 and one part gets the blood of Spidey man in it, which turns it red.
So we now have 2 symbiotes, the black one leaps on to Peter, bringing out the darker Spidey. As dark spidey battles his inner self and Kraven and Lizard duke it out, one of them ends up dying preferably Kraven, Symbiote is thrown off Spidey and cowers to the sewers, news report that Cletus Cassidy has just escaped, during the report of Dr Connors stating that he has found a cure and he is back to normal.
That is technically Spiderman 5 set up beautifully.
I guess I'm just getting a little confused between everything that I have heard/read online, to other users like you and Rocco who are giving me more info. I thirst for Spidey movie knowledge, but I'm obviously taking things out of context here. Guess I was just going along with what was being told to me, like an ignorant gullible person LOL. Yes and thanks for referring me to the other links but these are all I have been checking these last few days LMAO. I read the account of what you say happened. Yes and as far as I know the Vanderbilt treatment contained The Lizard as well, but it was also written as a movie in two parts, split between "4" and "5" - something that Raimi did not go for, so obviously when Raimi hired the other two writers I'm sure Vanderbilt's story has long disappeared, except for maybe little parts like keeping Lizard in there and maybe some other scenes, but overall, Vanderbilt's story of "4" I believe is gone. Thanks, Raimi. I hope they don't do that to him again, with him writing "5" and "6". I sure wouldn't want Raimi to come back to the franchise and wipe his stories away again for all the films.
I have no clue about it being used for Spiderman 5 & 6, as Rocco is claiming, i can't find it any where, from my knowledge Vanderbilt's pitched involved Lizard
Also CBF read my current post in the new spidey thread, about what happened to Vanderbilt's Spiderman 4 treatment.
Sony removed it, but see the other thread for a more detailed explanation on the story
"Nah i don't have Vanderbilt's draft but the story was posted on a site that it involved 3 villains in his story which the other one wasn't named."
Ottley can you plz post that link, once you do you can post it on my page or right back here, I keep checking this thread. I am 100% interested to go to that link, since you say Vanderbilt's actual draft was posted there (not just him talking about writing it), but I can't find it after 10 Google searches.
JA Ottley also wrote:
"its already duly noted that Ross ... is currently penned to write Spiderman 5 & 6 via a story by Vanderbilt."
Really? I have never heard that. Was it just announced?

"So you don't consider Silver Sable or Black Cat side villains?"
Nope. OK maybe Silver Sablinova, but to me, Black Cat is A-list. Oh and Rocco, did Sony really say that they want to use Venom and Carnage? I can't find that piece of news anywhere...
Check worstpreviews.com
Its was on the site, posted this morning
According to Sony, if Sam Raimi, doesn't return for Spiderman 5 & 6, which he isn't contracted too, then Sam stated he would like Gary Ross to be his successor.
In which Ross acceptted
Nah i don't have Vanderbilt's draft but the story was posted on a site that it involved 3 villains in his story which the other one wasn't named.
So maybe David took the 2 villains being Lizard (of course) and Roderick...And Ross took the other unknown character along with Lizard, and they plan to mish mash them together taking the best aspects from the 2 screenplays maybe, i'm not familiar with Raimi's style of the pre-production stage.
But what if the villains are just Roderick and Lizard with a side story as well as the symbiote, because its already duly noted that Ross will write Venom, and is currently penned to write Spiderman 5 & 6 via a story by Vanderbilt.
Also i would use Mysterio in a heart beat...
And Electro would work i definately agree,
Shocker could be a good side villain.
I reckon a lot of the corny B-movie characters would need some re-modernising to fit into Raimi's world.
Like the Vulture being i don't know a terrorist bomber, that can maybe do Parkour, but then he'd have to be young to do parkour/free-running, which is a major drift from the source material of the character...
Meh Ben Kingsley for Vulture o_0....Tobin Bell plz :D
Also....NO MORBIUS < I repeat the with emphasis...Midnight Sons movie, plz :D
