Will
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen be Michael Bay's last Transformers film?
WENN is reporting that director Michael Bay will not return to direct future
Transformers films.
We
reported back in March that Bay was aiming to take a yearlong break from the series. The studio was proposing a July 4, 2011 release date and Bay said he wanted to make the film for a 2012 release. Now, apparently, he is done with the franchise completely and, when asked if he would come back for a third film, he said the studio would have to look elsewhere for a director.
"After the three and a half years I've spent making these movies, I feel like I've had enough of the Transformers world. I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions."

to read more and we'll definitely keep you posted on these new developments as soon as more information arises.
UPDATE: (6/18/09 6:15 PM PST) Michael Bay himself recently posted on one of his
message board threads that the story is untrue. Here's the message Bay left on his message board.
Hah,
Love press how they spin. Never said it - just wanted a vacation is more to the point. And no I don't read the good or the bad reviews.

Bring on Transformers 3, with Michael Bay directing!!!
And yeah Michael Bay is directing Transformers 3 and then that's it. So it's going to be a complete trilogy.
Hey, I just thought of a good idea...IF Bay doesn't decide to return for a third movie, then Louis Leterrier would be the perfect
Bay rules met him wednesday, along with the cast and crew at the Midnight IMAX Primere.
He only ever stated that he wanted a vacation, nothing more nothing else. Basically the studio 'Dreamworks' which is co-run by Executive Producer Spielberg, released an official release date penned for June / July 2011.
MB just said listen, i've been doing this robot stuff for ther pass 5yrs now and i want a break to do some proper action and finish off another project which has been long overdue to have its trilogy complete and yes its BAD BOYS 3.
He just stated he wanted to do BB3 first which would take a year and a half at most and then work on Transformers 3, which a release date according to Bay....4th - 5th July 2012.
ROTF is nothing more than a good action flick with robots bashing ten ton of shit out of each other, with massive explosions anmd well Megan Fox running around in hot pants and skimpy tops, with a tiny ass no brainer plot
On a side note; I really don't care. If he's in, great; if he's out, great!
they pretty much established this franchise was a trilogy from the start
Im fine with Bay taking a short break as long as Transformers 3 is on the way
He's Michael Bay.
Personally, I'd like Tony Scott, but teen-action does not seem to be his forte.
Now... Bay may not be doing it for extra cash now... its most likely he wants a year off like he originally said, but.... by saying he's done for good may inspire the studios to cough up extra money when the time comes to start filming the third installment. And they're WILL be a third installment. REVENGE OF THE FALLEN is gonna cash in big time.
I also have my doubts about Revenge and the first was good but not that great.
