Mia Wasikowska Circling Jane Eyre

Director Cary Fukunaga's follow-up to Sin Nombre is starting to round out the cast. According to Variety, Mia Wasikowska, star of next year's Alice in Wonderland, is in talks to join the cast of Jane Eyre.

Wasikowska would star as the title character and the trade is also reporting that Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) is in talks to star as Eyre's employer Rochester, who Eyre discovers is hiding a mysterious secret. Ellen Page was originally set to star as Eyre, but left the project.

Fukunaga will be directing from a script by Moira Buffini. Filming was said to begin on the film sometime next year.

Jane Eyre comes to theaters March 11th, 2011 and stars Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell, Judi Dench, Sally Hawkins, Imogen Poots. The film is directed by Cary Fukunaga.
