David Duchovny Speaks Out About a Third X-Files Film
October 21st, 2009
Although the second film didn't exactly set fire to the box office, the star of a popular sci-fi film and TV series is ready for more. The Daily Beast recently chatted with The X-Files star David Duchovny, who revealed he would still be in for a third film that would follow last year's The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Here's a section of the site's article. However, Duchovny looks forward to filming a third X-Files film in the near future. "As far as the X-Files movie I'd like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy. I think it's natural for The X-Files to have another movie in 2012, so we'll see if we get to do it." He defends last year's widely panned The X-Files: I Want to Believe, as well as the polarizing last few seasons of the television run: "I was happy with it... I have nothing but respect for [X-Files creator] Chris Carter and the writing staff."
We'll be sure to keep you posted on any new developments on a new X-Files film as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, you can

Enter X-Files 3.
no aliens? no support from me.
the second one was lame.
you know why?
no aliens.
Love this franchise to death.
the 2nd one: wow, what the f*ck happened?
the next one better get back on track!
The only reason XF2 bombed at the box office, is because those dipshits released it against "The Dark Knight." ... Duh you fucking idiots, of course it was going to flop then.
Anyways, I really hope XF3 gets made cuz it would be the CLOSURE FILM to the entire franchise. "The Truth" left it open, so now you have to close it Carter. plz do it...
