Stargate Universe Sneak Peek


Stargate Universe follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves as they are forced through a Stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, which is locked on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth. Faced with meeting the most basic needs of food, water and air, the group must unlock the secrets of the ship's Stargate to survive. The danger, adventure and hope they find on board the Destiny will reveal the heroes and villains among them.

total voyager comparison...its even the third installment...the whole premise is to find their way home...like voyager...they are lost, voyager was lost...and there's even a ship...and both sets of "crews" are explorers...

I'm not sure about the voyager comparison. I can see how one could be made, but Stargate is about going to other sides of the galaxy, and exploring it. Besides on Voyager you had a ship with a federation crew, on a federation ship. SGU should initially be about the ship, as SGA was about Atlantis.

I agree with you there Portfan. I just hope it doesn't just follow the same generic style as the early episodes of Voyager; Look for food and fuel, while forgetting to make it as entertaining as it should have been. That was a missed opportunity, even though the later episodes were much better. Also, I hope Robert Carlyle is a permanent cast member, as I think he's a great actor.

I for one, am definately looking forward to the premiere. This looks to be as good a show as the others, and add something to the Stargate formula as well.
