Empire Online recently caught up with actor Ryan Reynolds and chatted with him about the upcoming
Deadpool movie. The big news is that the very popular Marvel Comics' character would be breaking the fourth wall to talk to the audience.
Reynolds stated, "Break the fourth wall? Oh yeah, he's got to. I want to see him break the Great Wall." He says that the film will stick pretty close to the comic book upon which it is based, saying, "The studio's working on a script and trying to find a director. The main goal is to make sure it stays close to the source material." Is he worried about fan reaction to the film? "I'm one of them. I've always been a fan, at least for the last eight or nine years. I feel a bit of validation because I knew going into Wolverine that there's a huge fanbase for this and I don't think anyone else did." The actor had no comment about
Deadpool's decapitation at the end of
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Deadpool will open in the summer of 2010.

i will pass on this!
OTTLEY!!!!!!!
However... in the film, this could be wrong it's been awhile since I've seen it, doesn't Stryker say to he wishes he could add his powers to the pool. Wolverine asks what pool, Stryker says The Deadpool. Maybe. Maybe there is more that one. Multiple clone all are in the Deadpool. And somehow eventually only Wade is left. Makeing him Deadpool.
.
Some i'm guess from now on that words will have to be spelt in caps for it to appear.
the word 'SCRIPT' has to now be spelt in capitals for some reason i dunno, probably a technical problem with the site, i dunno.
I agree with Chad, although i know Remy really doesn't like me that much.
But Chad is right Colonel Stryker calls Weapon XI, Deadpool at one point in the film, when they are discussing it with Wolverine and where that girl comes out and he says it again before they activate him.
So technically that does fuck up that theory
You can see it from my 1st comment, its just says 'finishing the' when it really should say 'Finishing the SCRIPT'
S C R I P T it's not there just a spacebar stroke intead. Is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?
Are you suggesting that the Deadpool we saw was merely a clone of Wade? But even if that's the case, they still called this super mutant Deadpool, which fucks up that theory.
Preacher will never get adapted, unless its done by a hardcore fanatic screenwriter that knows Preacher in and out.
Also to note Sam Mendes probably hasn't even read the bloody comics of Preacher, in his first interview on it, he had no clue what the production was about and the controversy behind the product that was Preacher.
Sam Mendes ain't good with shit like this
This will flop, big time, Deadpool, because they fucked him up with Origins, and well people have lost dramatic faith in this character because he wasn't adapted well and also the fans are still probably pissed off.
And the simple fact its the same studio that did Origins this decreases their expectations on what this film could have been, if it wasn't for Origins, because they fucked up Deadpool in the first place.
And they got some any amateurish screenwriter on Fox Studios writing the , i mean come on man, this just screams flop and failure already.
Fox ain't good with sourced material adapts, they are good at family film and they should stick to what they know.
Also to note fairly...
It was a Fox Studios screenwriter that wrote DBE & Street Fighter: The whackness of Chung Li, and Max Payne.
I think that says enough about how this film will turn out.
Marvel (and whatever fucking studio) ALWAYS rushes. Jon Favreau wanted to go slow in the production of "Iron Man II" but they wouldn't let him. Nothing can be done about it.
And Sam Mendes is doing "Preacher"
"The actor had no comment about Deadpool's decapitation at the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Yeah well, either way, they better resolve this issue. I for one am looking forward to Reynolds' return to the character and to see what he can do with him. Wolverine kind of gave him a cameo but I want to see a full-fledged version with the mask and all. Oh and no optic beam blasts either, just swords, regeneration and teleportation. THAT'S IT!! You hear me, FOX??
theyre gonna fuck it up, ruin the character, and yes, david goyer and marvel should put a stop to all this nonsense fox is doing with the characters, specially someone as good as the merc
i can imagine the scenes of him breaking the fourth wall, is it gonna be in a middle of an intense fight and hell pause the fight and turn to make comments to the audience lol
fox, open ur eyes, ur crap unless ur making family films, stick with wat u know and leave the comics to the pros
It's not Marvel, it's Fox that will fuck this up
Listen to dis. Dis is what I'm sayin'. WHAT CONTROL DOES HE HAVE over production. He says it will stick 2 source material. How can make sure?
Know whhhhha. Marvel I don't think will take enough time. It's being funneled through to rush to get it to the fan base that'll buy it. Release date set already with no director? Release date is next year and tehy don't have a finished OR EVEN A director. NOT ENOUGH TIME. Oh yes, my friends... this will be rushed. It will not be what you want. It might be good, but not up to expectations.
If it's the studio writing, the i don't wanna fucking know about this, because let's face it 20th Century Fox can't do anything right at the moment...
You tell me David Goyer is writing it, i'll be happy to notify this will be epic.
And how can they even have a release slot done, when they have not even finished the , this takes time, it took Goyer way long to write his version, which was demolished by the events of Wolverine's flick.
I see this spiralling into production hell
cant wait to finally see this character's background
