Billy Bush Signs Multi-Year Contract to Continue Co-Hosting Access Hollywood

Source:  NBC Universal
Access Hollywood co-anchor Billy Bush has signed a new, multi-year contract to remain with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's top-rated entertainment newsmagazine Access Hollywood, it was announced today by the show's Executive Producer Rob Silverstein.

Bush has been with Access Hollywood for nearly six years, joining the show as East Coast correspondent in December 2001. He took over as co-anchor of the show with Nancy O'Dell in June 2004.

"Since Billy joined Access Hollywood, he has been a pure moment machine," says Silverstein. "Beyond asking the tough questions and really knowing how to have fun, he is brilliantly creative and equally passionate about what we do at our show. I am thrilled that he is with us and look forward to years full of Billy moments and breaking news.'"

"Access Hollywood has been great for both me and my family. I feel blessed to be asked to continue on here and humbly accept," says Bush. "Our show flies under the big action command of our Executive Producer Rob Silverstein. If you're with Rob, you're winning. If not, you better get on his good side."

In addition to his on-air duties at Access Hollywood, Bush, who was named one of Esquire magazine's "10 Men," has covered the red carpet for the Golden Globes and Grammys, as well as hosted ABC's live pre-show for the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Academy Awards and "2006 Emmy Red Carpet Special." In addition, he reported for NBC at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino. Bush has also hosted several primetime shows for NBC.

Bush began his career hosting the afternoon drive show on WLKZ-FM in New Hampshire, later moving to Washington, D.C., where he hosted the midday show on WARW-FM. In March of 1997, Bush brought his award-winning talent for entertainment and humor to WWZZ-FM (Z104) in D.C. as host of "Billy Bush and the Bush League Morning Show," which aired until January 2001. Before joining Access Hollywood, Bush was a correspondent for WNBC-TV's Today in New York morning show.

Bush earned a bachelor's degree in international studies and government at Colby College in Maine, where he was a two-time captain of the men's lacrosse team.

Although Bush maintains a busy work schedule, he regularly makes time for philanthropic endeavors. He has served on Operation Smile's Board of Governors for over four years, a non-profit organization whose mission is to repair childhood facial deformities, while building public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare systems for children and families. In addition, Bush also proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Lollipop Theater Network, a non-profit organization that arranges private screenings of newly released movies for children suffering from debilitating illnesses. These children are usually confined to hospitals or other secluded environments preventing them from going to movie theaters.

Bush resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Sydney, and three daughters.
