Joel Silver to Produce Swamp Thing 3D

Source:  Collider
Collider managed to catch up with producer Joel Silver at the Whiteout junket earlier today, and they got the head of Dark Castle to spill a little bit about his upcoming 3D slate. According to Silver, he hopes to do a remake of Swamp Thing utilizing the immersive cinematic process.

Joel stated, "I'm developing a picture now that I'd like to do. I'll hopefully do Swamp Thing, which is a movie we've had for a long time. We think that would be great to do in 3D. There are a couple of projects I'm thinking about (for the format) but not everything. Maybe I'm going to do it. I like it."

No official word has been made yet, but we will keep you up to date as this story advances.

I love it when we have studios that were once glorified come out with the same movies over and over again. Its been said before but come on do something original if you have this passion to use this format don't fuck around with people who love originals. I don't know OK so I guess it want stop till Holly(shit)wood gets its act together. Lastly, again MAKE SOMETHING COOL IN 3D LIKE JAMES CAMRON. IS HE THE ONLY HOPE? K wtf am i thinking right attacking HOLLYWOOD, well $ and movies are one thing now! get it, got it, good LOL i cant wait for Austin Powers (re)make, or on the safe side (re)imagining!

No theres no impersonating going on J.A., just Vanboy with his bad retaliation efforts.

Ok i am sooooooo fucking confused, why is there such immaturity that we have to impersonate and violate the profiles of others.
If you have to do that i recommended grabbing yourself a life when you sign out.

Well we were on the subject topic of 3D films Vanboy, i actuallly think a 3D live action pokemon movie would do well and it is the type of film worthy of the 3D art form of film.
Like i stated earlier on, the film has to be worthable to be put on the status lines of being an actual 3D Feature, it shouldn't just be bunged on to every upcoming title coming out of Hollywood

Oh, Newkill is that you impersonating Delgren again? It has to be, all of the punctuation and spelling is correct!

I know that Delgren is secretly the Twilight and Trueblood fansite president. He's just putting up this tough guy front to throw us off. Man he's quite the comic.

I wonder if he knows that I'm onto his facade?

He wishes he could have an awesome van like I have. But alas, he'll just have to peddle to the next installment of Twilight. Hopefully his mommy will give him money for the ticket.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the little guy. He does try hard to be tough. I feel pity for him.

Whats the matter, I thought I was talking in your native tongue of self indulged douche bag. Don't you understand what inflated delusions of eloquence are, here let me Google some images for you, so I can illustrate to you what I mean.

I like that last part especially, oh man thats rich. Yeah go call your little boyfriend Newkill. HAHAHAHA! Have you guys had your first date in the back of your van yet? I here he wants to blow you hard, I'm sure you cant wait. Are you guys going to spoon afterward and watch Twilight and True Blood back to back. I here they're making True Blood in 3D! You must be excited.

Yeah, that's about the reach I expected from your level. LOL!

"or is it his ego that causes so much pain?" What the Hell was THAT supposed to mean. Swing for the fence Delgren, you can do it! Boy, your brain must be fried right now, after that little attempt!

And I will refer to YOU as "Pisses-In-The-Wind".

"Quick go sit in your corner his intelligence just snuff you out!"- Dude, where's your punctuation?! I hate trying to translate Goofese!

"My ejaculation of profanities is just a retort to you inflated delusions of eloquence and elitist state of being."- WOW! Did you come up with that all by your lonesome, or did you enlist the help of Comrade.

No remember, I'm a rocket scientist. I only work at Oxford and Yale.

Just shut the Hell up Delgren, or I'll ask Newkill to impersonate you again!

OH NO!!!! EVERY BODY RUN!!!! HERE COMES VANBOYS WRATH!!!!! AAHHHHH!!!! Quick go sit in your corner his intelligence just snuff you out! or is it his ego that causes so much pain?

Oh Vanboy your so intelligent. I'm sure you hale from Oxford for you brilliant academic achievements. My ejaculation of profanities is just a retort to you inflated delusions of eloquence and elitist state of being. And as for you're 'Can of Whoop-ass', it's just a kick in the dirt as far as I'm concerned. Don't worry from now on I won't refer to you as fucking retard, from now your Captain Retardo in 3D.

Hey Delgren, You don't really want to incur my wrath...do you? Too late!

Apparently "I" can't have an opinion either, judging by your errant ejaculation of flailing profanities, ASSHOLE!

Yeah, I am used to the smell of s**t, but you just won't go away!

And I hate Twilight, and Trueblood, You F**KING crack addicted ferret!! If you were paying as much attention as EVERYONE ELSE obviously was, you might have known that!

If you don't want retaliation for calling me a "F**king Retard, just for simply stating that you were thinking that you were "a champion of Cinematic morals", then don't open that can of whoop-ass!

Just sit to your F**king corner, shut up, and stop insulting people just because their more intelligent than you, you little piece of Smurf SH*T!!!

Man your a doofus Vanboy. Are used to the smell of shit, cause you seem to talk a lot of it. Whats your problem? Just because some doesn't lower their standards to your subhuman entertainment value they're automatically banned from having an opinion much less an 'identity'. Your a fucking reject, no wonder you like that extreme sports in 3D, it's the only thing that can keep your attention for more than a couple of minutes. Your just another one of these stupid kids on here that shits on great cinematic pieces while cheering on the likes of Twilight. Fucking loser. Go watch your 3D garbage while it last.

Me and a friend where bored really and one of our friends randomly tagged us in a video on Facebook which was the Pokemon theme song from Season 1, and well we both got the same idea and then we tried to imagine how awesome it would look in 3D, flames, water, electricity, vines bursting through the screens.
Going out on a limb we decided to do some primary and secondary research turns out Pokemon is still a big thing especially to young people, teens and adults within the age range of 20 - 28, as they remember it as a childhood memory.

So were now revisiting the seasons 1 - 10, reading the mangas and working on a treatment/proposal to send off.

And yeah i was surprised to find out Pokemon is still quite a big thing

I know you referenced Jaws 3D, but I added Friday the 13th in place of Freddy. You know, like FRIDAY THE 13TH and Jaws instead of FREDDY and Jaws. Get it?

Meh thought and voicing my opinion i guess. I think it could be awesome and a lot of people i asked, particularly youngsters thought it would be amazing, to see.

3D films can last, but the product has to be deserving of the status to be a 3D film.
I actually wonder why some of the most recent films are 3D.
It seems these days everyone is making 3D filsm just to stay in with the latest film trend and make sales. People will end up getting sick and tired of it, a lot of people already are.

Also if you read my comment again i do use JAWS 3.D, shit i even reference 3D comics.
I agree with both you (Vanboy) and comrade.

Well then Comrade, you might be interested in seeing that extreme sport 3D movie that's set to come out. I saw the trailer on one of my Blurays recently. Looks cool! Hey, maybe they will re-create "pits to chestie" bike jump and you will get to see the deodorant spray in your face.

3D is far from being perfected. It's not like it doesn't have it's place (documentaries are definitely cooler in 3D), but everywhere you look you can see misuses of it... Coming Soon: Twilight 3D! The fags literally jump off the screen!

A note to the LGBT Community that my use of the word "fag" was in no way a slight on the LGBT Community. Don't get butt-hurt.

Oh, woops, I mean...crap.

Ha, just noticed drewski's Friday the 13th comment. Funny!

Yes drewski. Finally somebody with a brain who isn't slamming properly done 3D movies. Yes, 3D tech. The movies of old were the red and blue kind. The 3D out now is a different technology.

August 29th, 2009 4:11pm
By the way Ottley, Freddy's 3D was only fifteen minutes at the end of the movie, and was s**t in your face. That one doesn't even count!

It would have been better for you to use F 13th and Jaws.

And Ottley, Pokemon?! Are you serious?! Pokemon?!
Now there's something that will be forgotten in a few years, and actually probably already has. How the Hell did that pop into your head?! I just can't believe somebody like you actually typed that out and sent it through! I guess I just expected better from you. What....the.....Hell?

3D is an expansion of the movie experience Delgren you dumb- ass squid! You're just jumping on the bandwagon of those who slam 3D, because you have no identity!

The 3D experience has been perfected, and it doesn't have to be s**t in your face like Friday the 13th part 3. If you read the comment I posted a while back about "Ghosts of the Abyss", by James Cameron, you would have read, that I commented that, it felt like the bow of the ship was right in front of you.

You are like the guy who clings to his 8 track cassettes, refusing to listen to CDs. Anybody who outright slams 3D has no foundation for doing so, except for the fact of just doing it. Like I said in my other comment, you don't have to see the 3D version. Go see the 2D one and forget the issue. And while your at it, demand that the theater switch the sound over from Surround to Stereo for you. Just pretend the 3D version doesn't exist, and leave the rest of us to expand our enjoyment.

ya i remember in the late 70's the 3-d movies coming out, even seeing friday the 13th part 3 in 3D, then they dissappeared...now their back again, if they do them right i can see them last, with movies that have the potential and stuff that pushes the 3d tech.

Actually there is a consideration of making the Hobbit Real 3D, it ain't confirmed to be in 3D.
And Del toro has already stated he is not interested in the lack of artistical concept that is 3D, so i highly doubt it will be.
But only time will tell.

It just seems that these days everyone is banging on to make 3D films, what happened to a normal great screenplay with a great cast, cinematography, story.
Some things work in 3D, some don't. One that would be amazing is a Pokemon 3D live action, if it was around and being used in those times when pokemon was at an all time high.

I'm just stating that 3D doesn't have to be the first question and main priority to the current standard of films being created currently in Hollywood

i agree Hollywood grew out of the phase once, and they will grow out of it again. and then bring it back sometime ten years or so after.
